Ah, this popped up on my feed today. I watched the one when you ran out of gas on the way back. Loved the scenery of this one. Love this one. The fires are a way of life in Central Idaho. The "Fire Weed" looks cool though and the Morel mushrooms that come the year after a fire. Hope all is well in Bali. Cheers, and Ride on.

I just discovered your channel and have been really enjoying this series! I made the round trip ride from south TX up to Deadhorse back in 2014. I met a new friend along the way and we rode the Dalton together, mostly for safety reasons at first. We had beautiful sunshine going north, so finished the trip in just one day instead of two as planned. Southbound, it started raining as we left Deadhorse and didn't quit until we made it back to Fairbanks. It was 2 grueling days in the slimy mud! We pulled into Wiseman, completely exhausted and filthy. That's when we met Clutch. He walked out to the road and offered us the opportunity to stay in his soft-sided cabin. He kept us entertained with mining stories, cold beer, and homemade sourdough pancakes for breakfast. This video really made me reminisce about that leg of the journey. All the best! Oh, the guy I met up north and rode the Dalton with has become one of my best friends. We see each other at least yearly and have since ridden in many places around the country together.

Wow what a story! And that's so cool you actually got to meet Clutch! There are so many great memories that are created when on the road, even some horrible rain and mud becomes a special bonding experience for you and your friend. That's how we always look at it, when it's good it's good, and when it's bad, it'll be a good laugh later on! Thanks for sharing your experience with us, it sounds like quite the adventure!

Such a cool milestone to reach the Dalton Hiway, cross the Yukon River and reach the Arctic Circle. Well done! I am not sure about your translation to metric. It think that 37.5 us miles per gallon = 6.3 litres per 100 kilometres.
@2UpAndOverloaded2 жыл бұрын
Oh gosh, you are right! An error on our part, thank you so much for the comment and for letting us know!
@tigercoward2 жыл бұрын
Not really a calculation issue but an application interpretation. In the imperial method the calculation is how far you travel on the unit of fuel. In metric the calculation is how many units of fuel you use for a set distance. Miles per gallon vs litres per 100km. It is an annoying comment that doesn't enhance the value of the video. I wish that I had of kept quiet! I love you guys! Stay awesome.

A few years back a guy on a BMW g650 hit a frost heave (on the paved part?) and it literally took off his front tire. Not sure if he survived, but it was a helo ride … 😮😮
@2UpAndOverloaded2 жыл бұрын
Oh no 😮! We heard some nightmare stories as well. All we can do is be as careful as we can, but accidents can happen at any moment. Hope the guy is okay. 😢

What a great adventure, question what tires do you run on that bike, and how did your tires hold up through Alaska

Thanks for tuning in! 😊 We used the Dunlop Trailmax for the front and rear. They weee absolutely fantastic! I put on over 10k miles before we swapped them out for the same set! Highly recommended!

I'm thinking the entire town came to check you guys out? I guess I'll have to wait till the next episode to find out. Little story. I met some Polish girls on a train here in New York. They were Au Pairs and I asked, "Hey, do you guys drink fresh milk right from the cow?" I had heard that people on the farm in Poland do that. They said yes and long story short I went to their parent's home in some little Polish town to visit the cows and drink milk like the locals. Well, apparently news of some American guy coming to visit got out and I was kind of famous! Nothing like traveling, is there!? It was a bizarre experience, but the milk was good. I even got to milk the cow myself.
