I think their grab force is weaker near root, I hop by them (cringing inside) I once briefly grabbed it and got out too!

I think it's because from what I've seen they always drag creatures in with their tip, so if you touch it at its base then it first has to curl in on itself kinda like centipedes.

the only plant that got me was the one shown in drainage system, that was embarassing cause I already knew it was there but forgot
