Trying to keep this short. Storm is Leutenant Uhura. she is important to the team, but more specifically, she is important to the real world Black community, and more specifically, little girls. Storm is a power house with emotional obstacles who overcomes. she is a goddess, and a symbol of a better future. She has yet to be truly showcased in Hollywood. As a little white boy in the 80s, it was apparent, the parallels between the mutants and minor ethnic races in the real world. The X-Men are the future. Race, and fender don't matter. Just family. brothers and sisters from different walks of life, hand and hand against hatred and oppression. The X-Men are an example of how we should all strive to be.

Well her inspiration comes from Lt. Uhuru. That's why she has the name she does. TV was and is a different animal than books, radio etc. Look at Gunsmoke the radio series vs. Gunsmoke the TV series. The radio series was hella dark. The TV series in the first season or so were, but that changed. Had Star Trek been a radio series, paperback, comic, pulp (in the teens-to it's demise) would have been way more daring.

Deadpool was a low budget film. My only criticisms about this short film: Too many questions, especially about what brought her there in the first place. It didn't tell much of a story, it was mostly her flopping around and suffering. One tidbit, that wasn't even in the comic. However all around, it's not terrible. Though I enjoy MegaMan The Fan Film more. ☺

Finally had a moment to watch this. Absolutely incredible. Storm as she was always meant to be. If you ever crowd fund a second movie, I'll fund that one as well! I love also that this film addresses things so many others fail to, things that are _crucial_ to Storm's story. It's not afraid to dive into issues of race, sexism and the politicization and criminalization of people that aren't "normal"--read: white, male, married and financially well-off. Heaven forbid you're a black poor single "misfit." I hope this proves successful enough for another installment. Kudos & love to Maya Glick & everyone who helped make this short film possible.

Very nice video, awesome. Loved the small things you added as a nice touch, the weatherman predicting a bad storm, the liquor name "Dark Phoenix", her tears followed by the rain. For a short film you did a great job getting the most important points into the film without overloading it.

Oh wow! I just found out about this! It was so awesome on every level. This has gotta be the most accurate live-action depiction of Storm ever. This depiction is straight out of the comics, which makes this short film so EPIC. The somber tone of the short had all the hallmarks of the 1990s X-Men Animated Series as they did show "Punk Storm" in one episode. This literally puts the big budget X-Men films to utter shame. They did Storm such a huge disservice in the movies. Maya's portrayal of Storm was SPOT ON! I hope to see more short films from this company. I will be sharing this gem.

Really enjoyed the take on the character in Rain. Also, so much fun to see the utilization of her powers in such a way...using wind to increase her speed, taking out air from someone's lungs, spreading the current from the shock stick, etc....truly awesome! Beyond impressed ! This is the Storm I grew up reading under Claremont's pen. Strong, resourceful and a fighter. Awesome portrayal. I loved the nod to the scene in the Life/Death storyline where Storm is broken, weary and just laying on the bed wrapped in the covers ...spot on.
