As you know from my previous post on your channel that I am very new at this. I had to watch three times to finally figure out what pinfire was. After I saw the cabs I realized what I was looking for. You will never knowhow much I have learned from your vids. Thanks so much and Havagudun my friend!

Thanks for the kind words. The reason we put out all the videos is to bring people along and share the experiences. Glad you find value in these, and if it helped in some way!

The Miller property is a amazing occurrence, sure there are other minerals just waiting to be found there! Good luck with the analysis, keep us in the loop. It's nice material. And Happy 🇨🇦 day!!

Thanks CoinandRelicOntario! I think you're right, many more minerals to discover there I'm sure. Once I get the results back I'll post a quick video with what it is. I hope you have some in a bucket somewhere, it's pretty neat stuff! Happy Canada day!

Beautiful man. I did some in the tumbler after just using the hamm&chis, but I have more and I was gonna cut it before I tumble. Wicked cabs man, I hope I can cut up a few as nice!! 📌🔥

Wow! I've got a shelf full of it. That's it, I'm going to watch your flat lap build video again to make one of my own. I've wanted to for a long time but I've run out of reasons not to! The amazonite on site as well as the twinning in some of my feldspar leads me to think it may be microcline. (?) Please post the assay results. I'd love to see. Another awesome video.

Hey Matt! You have some of this Pinfire from the Lost Mine? It would be cool to hear others finding it as well. The flat lap was a straight forward build, you can do it pretty easily, and cheap too! I bought the backing plate and diamond disks on amazon and they came pretty quick. I'm still a bit stumped as to what this material actually is. It looks and has all characteristics of Sunstone, and it's easily possible it is. I'll for sure post the results when I get them back. Thanks for watching and if you needs any tips for the Lap just let me know!

I'll dig out my pieces, give 'em a good cleanup and look for the starfire tomorrow. I thought I noticed something similar at the time but I wasn't looking for it. I hope I do find it! I'll post a pic if I do find it and can get a shot of it.

Good guess, I think it is microcline. Well, not good guess, nice educated guess. I have some of this too, just tumbled up a load. It turned out nice!

I have a couple possible bits of useful information for you, not sure the accuracy on it though. First, I have been told by a gem collector that the feldspar appears to be microcline, and also I think you're on the right track as far as it being inclusive, not like labradorite or peristerite. I think it's richterite inclusions, as it seems the highest concentration of fire is near the black blebs (which I *think* is richterite). Hope any of this is legit, and helpful!

rainbow lattice sunstone from australia has rutile inclusions, given the presence of abundant titanium in those pegmatites its possible it's rutile just like the aussie stuff

I had the university here do some tests on this material, it turns out I was wrong in my original comment, there actually is some level of "play-of-light" to the phenomenon. I do agree though, there are also inclusive oxides (primarily of iron, but also possibly of titanium as well). The play of light comes from a perthitic exsolution that, when formed under the perfect conditions, visibly refracts light where the 2 feldspars meet. I still don't fully understand the whole thing, but there is definitely something here in addition to inclusive minerals. Cheers!@@ericfortin5612

It can happen when two feldspars are together I've read. So maybe you're right, that it's a mix

Please don’t call this material “rainbow lattice”. That is a completely different material from another continent. No comparison in appearance or value. Your material is beautiful, and interesting, good for tumbling.

Actually Rainbow Lattice is the type and colour of the pattern itself, not specific to a stone. Commonly this pattern is found in Sunstone from the west coast, but there's also pinfire. Parts of this does have a Rainbow Lattice pattern and is correct for the name. Tumbling this is not the best way to display it as you need almost a flat surface to catch the light in view, better to cab this material.
