I appreciate the comments that acknowledge that this is the original and the foundation for each successor. It's for that reason that I tried to play Super Mario Kart on my phone, but touch screen controls simply won't do. I need the full experience :/ Full controls at least. I hope this becomes available for Virtual Console on the Wii-U. Old and new together... Just what I need.

Seriously, the whole song is friggin' great, but 0:42 - 0:55 is the part that really clicks with me. Just sounds so ambitious, so wondrous. It's full of 90s Nintendo magic!

I like how the old games keep things simple and yet everything just seems more distinguishable, true they may lack single player VS. mode, but who cares? These are the finest Mario Kart games.

I agree. They are the best games, and I'm not just saying that from nostalgia. I think that the simpler gameplay adds to the fun and allows you to use your imagination.

Nintendo, This is were the Mario Kart Series started. The home of every course , and the birth of it. This is the orginal thing. Every Nintendo person thanks you for it. The music for this game was in my opinion the best out of the mario kart series. The gameplay was also great too i favor this game over the later ones though MK64 comes in a close second, partially i've had the SNES longer and partially because everything was more difficult

@Hypertails63 I agree this was the hardest and my favorite stage though i had more trouble getting through Donut Plains 3 (i think) course in the Special cup. This stage also had the best music. I say in a latter mario kart they should include this original stage in it or do a cup featuring all rainbow roads of past games or special cups of past games. That'll be the ultimate mario kart collection
