Yeah, it's a nice change of pace. Difficult and tactical, but not sweaty like the main game. If they just allowed players to get skins in Extraction for use in Siege, I bet the game would be popping off a bit more.

I think I’m part of the few people who really like extraction. For a pve spinoff I thought it was really solid. Completely Maelstrom Protocol was always a goal of mine but never got around to it. If it’s still playable, perhaps I’ll give it another go sometime.

I like outbreak and exteacrion, however i feel outbreak was the better of the two. If i was going to update/revive extraction I would make it so we suddenly have new sector being infected and isn't contained. And the parasite has learned and adapted from all the small encounters with react from the zones that are contaminanted and under control. And this thing may decide to use humans for hosts again or not, they aren't going to bring back the outbreak art style anyway so this one is up to ubisoft. And the actions of mission had actual consequences. So for example let's say there was a community event to eleminate a certain number of parasite enemies to receive an update that rewards players with safe entries to the zone. If the community runs out of time and fails the event every entry has aton of enemies and have to fend them off before they can begin the mission. Keep in mind this an example on consequences to the story. But this is where i would start if i were to bring extraction back.

Many "critics" and KZbinrs already tainted people's views on Extraction. People seem to forget that games can be updated. Siege at launch was the worst game to play and was not worth the money in the slightest, but clearly it flourished. Why couldn't Extraction recieve the same treatment? Extraction is the PvE equivalent to Siege's story. People just want to spew the same bs that many loud voices already had. There's critiquing a game for it to improve and then there's shitting on a game because said person doesn't enjoy it. The latter being what most people did.

@@FancyDakota First impressions matter, and first impressions weren't great. I agree Extraction is a pretty good game, played at launch and I had a lot of fun. But I see where people were coming from. I think it's unfair to pin the blame on people, or at least all of the blame. And I also think it's unfair to say that *everyone* or most people were just *hating* on the game(because I can't take anyone who treats a game getting bad reception as just 'hate' seriously.) Even if Extraction wasn't the most popular game or liked, at the end of the day, responsibility to keep it alive and supported was down to Ubisoft. And they chose to give up.

People were hard on the game for being different, appealing to a specific audience, and lacking content. Everything Siege was criticized for, yet Siege gets to live on but not Extraction. Yes, Ubi should have let the project grow a bit more, but they wouldn't have if people weren't willing to try to understand it. Both sides are to blame but it can always circle back to the people as we know how the gaming industry and companies operate right now.
