The most tragic part would be that it turned out all of this was for *NOTHING*. The curse at least partially came true despite all that Lizzy did. Prince Arthur did in fact die, and his brother Henry VIII had only one son from six wives. That son died prematurely, the House of Tudor lived only 2 more generations and ended in a childless virgin queen.

Not to mention all the machinations, breaking with an entire church, and wife-killing of Henry VIII. Again, all those Tudor murders done for superstition and paranoia, and they ended up dying out in 3 generations anyway.

@annecantelo1810 you mean a fictional book as clear evidence. There is no clear evidence, stop listening to old wives tales. The guy was a fraud, many accounts from that time period stated it including the people who helped him pretend to be the brother.

@@stephaniesmith1086 I think they are referring to the in the last year documentary on the Princes from Channel 4 from last year with Judge Rob Rinder and Philipa Langley "discovering" evidence that the princes escaped, which had been known since the 1600s but wasn't well publicised. the documents are from the time period. The first being an accounting record of Maximilien of the Holy Roman Empire from 1487 e.g. the Lambert Simnel invasion, where it mentions the Duchess of Burgundy the Aunt of the two Princes gathering support for her "nephew, son of King Edward expelled from his dominion" written in the French of that time and it must have been Edward V she meant for he was the elder and would have been King. much different from the story of the boy Lambert Simnel impersonating the Earl of Warwick we have been told of. To support this John De La Pole Earl of Lincoln a cousin of the Princes attended the coronation of the boy claimed to be Lambert Simnel, if he was Edward V he was 19 not 10 as Lambert was claimed to be. And how no one would fight for a peasant boy dressed up as a royal. And that he probably perished at the battle of Stoke Field and Henry VII probably commissioned a cover up so that a King of the House of York wouldn't be known to have invaded England which would then bring about questions such as did Richard Duke of York younger brother of Edward V escape also and if so should he be King and so on instead of Henry Tudor? Then, in Gelders Archive, it showed an autobiographical account penned most likely in Richard's hand and written in the first person saying he escaped from the Tower with the aid of John Howard Duke of Norfolk and the brothers Thomas and Henry Percy members of Richard III's inner circle to be secreted away till so many years had passed. In the show, Elizabeth gave him every chance to leave with his family. She even attempted to fake his own death so he could walk away and live a life he wants. However he never gave up his claim. Elizabeth knew what was at stake due to her mother’s curse and being right next to her, saying the curse. Elizabeth did not fully believe it but she didn’t want to risk it on her children. At the end of it all, she had no choice but to execute him. The curse affected the whole Tudor family male line which lead to the Golden World of Queen Elizabeth.

@@shadow_hillsgrandma8224As they say in modern criminology, Means, motive and opportunity. Richard III has to be the #1 suspect. Even if it didn't happen the way it did in Shakespeare's plays, even if Richard was a good guy prior to Edward IV's death, his actions in the immediate aftermath are extremely suspicious, there is no doubt that RIchard had the highest motive of anyone.

@honest6360 I was replying to the one who was talking about arranging her son's marriage. It's like they never heard of the medieval/renaissance period where the vast majority of marriages, especially in royal families, were arranged. It would be more crazy if they weren't arranged.

There were many royal children in-line to the throne BEFORE Richard. His brother Edward IV's marriage was said to be bigamous and therefore his children, including Elizabeth of York and the 2 Princes in the Tower Edward + Richard would have no legitimate claim to the throne. That meant that the next legitimate heirs to the throne were the children of Richard's middle brother, George Plantagenet, Duke of Clarence - Edward Plantagenet and Margaret (Pole). But Richard did not kill Edward or Margaret (so why would he kill his nephews Edward V and Richard who he could control and produce whenever he needed). In fact, it was Henry VII who ordered the execution of Edward Plantagenet and his sister Margaret Pole was executed by Henry VIII 😢

Yes, they are Henry VIII 's parents. The curse îs a legend, but..there were no survival male descendents..not even his son Edward VI.

There is no was this was the Real Prince Richard. If only one of the Boys was to somehow be Saved from Richard III unjust imprisonment it would have been the King , Edward V. He was far more valuable a prize.
