With it being off and with the valve being on, does that raise any potential risk like water bill going up or device breaking?

I have a situation where I need to remove bleach from my well by forcing the pump to run every 2 hours and a 30 minute break for cooling. I would to accomplish this by running this to my garden hose bib. I am not at this residence and don't want to sit there all day with a hose but can't leave the pump running all day either. Will this be able to accomplish this? Thanks.

If using drip or dripline irrigation, rather than soaker hoses or a sprinkler, Rain Bird (not Rainpoint, different companies) advises to always use a pressure regulator. So that should go onto the faucet before the timer, right?

I've had the same problem with all of my RP timers. Worthless water pressure. I've soaked my in vinager. I've removed all my emiters and ran water for a while. I've removed the back flow attachment. Still lose pressure. I have 80 lbs of water pressure coming out the spigot.

You slapped that on with no teflon tape and you have no leaking issues? I wrapped mine a bunch and tightened it really good by hand, yet water spews out of the inlet connection in all directions. It only stops if I open the valves. Defeats the purpose of a timer. Any ideas?

You don't use Teflon on hose connections like this. Your problem is You're missing the o-ring gasket thing that goes into the connector before the hose screws on. Like this: amzn.to/3YCuxqG (affiliate link)

@mattreviewsit Rainpoint pushes the use of the tape on all connections in their troubleshooting. And they never mention an aftermarket seal. You're the first person I've watched mention an aftermarket seal. Did you put one in off camera? Thanks. I'll give it a try.

@mattreviewsit I pulled out the mesh filter and it has the black ring around its base. Does the gasket go on top of this?

@@Atlavox sorry to blast you with replies. I just realized you said it goes in before the hose. My hose connections are just fine. It is the faucet to timer connection that is leaking like mad.

Hoping you worked this out by now, but the supply connection should have had a black rubber ring inside to seal against you hose bib/faucet, as with normal hose connections. Any teflon tape used in this scenario would not actually be your active seal, but rather more like loctite to secure the connection. A rubber seal inside the connection is required. If present, perhaps too much teflon tape prevented the seal from being properly squeezed?

All you have to do is use the 12H setting for the click, and then, just like in many other devices, you simply run through the hours, and you’ll see it change from AM to PM once you reach 12:00.

It’s actually pretty easy to program, and there are better videos than this one that make programming simple. In short, once you set the clock, you simply turn the black dial to *Start Time,* and then you set the time that you want you watering to begin, paying close attention to the AM/PM options (I responded to your other question regarding that). You’ll then turn the dial to *How Long,* and this is where you choose how many minutes you want the water to run for. Once you’ve selected that, you turn the dial to *”How Often,* and you’ll choose how many times per day, week, etc. Once you’ve done all of that, you turn the dial to *”On”,* and ensure that the faucet is turned on. It should come on at the time that you’ve set it for, and for the amount of time that you’ve programmed it for. Try setting it for a time within a few minutes of your setup, so that you can verify that you’re setting it correctly.
