Once completed how do you reset the valve maintenance needed that is displayed and the chirp that sounds off? Does it reset itself or do i need to do something to clear it? Great video by the way

You have to know how to get into the back menu. I'd tell you, but it'll cost $209.

I'm watching this because I have a RainSoft EC4 Series system, but yours doesn't resemble it. 🧐 My Owner's Manual shows illustrations consistent with my actual appliance -- an EC4 -- which doesn't match up with the one here in your video. What can ya tell me??

I think the process works on many units. My water softener and EC4 are the same mechanism. They both have the piston. Full disclosure, the tech and I are two people. I'm the cameraman. So, technically, this is for the RainSoft H2O softener also. There may be others I don't know about. This tech is smart, he has left the company to start one on his own, I think. He was there to service the EC4 but I didn't do a video. He said, ok, I'll do the water softener, it is the same. I agree you may have different steps to release the pressure but the innards are the same.

Have two 2 tank rainsoft ec4 unit One with the controller and one by itself My question is Do both of the tanks need to rebedded with resin ??

One is activated charcoal and the one with the control head ia the one with the resin. From what I heard is if it hasnt been used for a while you need to replace resin. But usually the resin will.last a while. I have had mine for close to 20 years and replaced tje resin 3 years ago. The resin was still good.

Your a bad dude! How would I move both tanks temporarily? I am having an epoxy floor installed.

I'm not the tech but if I had to do what you are asking I'd try to lift the whole thing up a few inches max, just enough to make room to apply floor finish, if the pipes can handle it. Build a strong platform out of angle irons then tie to ceiling rafters to lift it. Use turn buckles in chain.

My EC4 (10 years old) is leaking water from the drain line. When I bypass the system the leaking stop Why is this happened?? How can I fix it.

My filter says motor or switch failer can you please tell me what you think is wrong with it

motor switches are going out and you would have to get those replaced so it will work properly.

This video does not show a full valve rebuild. You are only showing a basic seal replacement. Every valve has and injector and injector plug on the right side of the valve that also need to be replaced along with the drain line flow control oring and disc. Also that white refill assemply has an oring under it that will need to be inspected or replaced as well.

This was SO painful to watch this guy stumble through this. There is so much more to a service than this. He missed A LOT! As an actual expert Rainsoft technician for 13 years, i urge you to not do your own maintenance especially if your following this video for instruction. This isn't even an EC4, yes it's the same valve underneath, but not an EC4.

Yeah I just cleaned my air side tank valve body on my ec4, took 4 hours to get a majority of it clean. I’d been paying my local rainsoft dealer to come service it yearly. They never been here even close to an hour. I’m done with them. I’ve already changed out the softener “was renting that”. I just had the media replaced two years ago so I was hoping to keep the iron filter, I guess it is working, it’s taking my iron level from 5.4 ppm to 0.8ppm. But it annoys me that I can’t get parts or any service info on them.

There’s always this secrecy to Rainsoft units. Why all the secrecy? Why not service it yourself if you’ve got the two braincells required? Finally - where can one go to purchase replacements? Now THATS the question that needs to be answered. Problem is all these parts are all made in China and are designed to break if you don’t have some RainSoftTM Monkey come by and ream you for service. Change my Mind.
