The sound of rain is so calming but i agree it's not so fun when you have to be out in it. What an awesome room the girls have! The garden is thriving, it is awesome to see. Happy Weekend you guys!
If melons are like zucchini, you can hand pollinate the female flowers that will grow the fruit. Compare the flowers- the one with something in the middle is the male. You take a male flower and touch the female flowers with the male’s part in the middle of it. This will pollinate more flowers than you might get just from bees and you’ll get more fruit. I don’t know the technical names for the flower parts. But if you look at all the flowers you will be able to see that one kind looks “male” and the other part does not (similar to how you know a boy dog from a girl dog). I just don’t want to get too graphic. You’ll be able to see the pollen get on the centers of the female flowers when the male middle part touches them, and when the male runs out of pollen you get another male flower.

June is definitely the rainy season for Japan. And then gross and soupy humidity in July August and September. I like summer but i hate the humidity. Lol

There was a storm here a few days ago and my bedroom window was leaking! Got it fixed to the best of my knowledge, only way to find out if it works is to wait for the next rainy day. I still love rain! XD

My nephew and I were in Japan 3rd - 18th June and were so fortunate to only have 1 night of rain and rain on the day we left. Had an amazing time and now back to cooler climes back in Scotland 🏴 Love watching your videos.

You were fortunate! Rainy season seems to have come in late - in fact as I write this comment there are storms moving through.
I loved the sesame seed dressing and the ginger dressing

Even rainy days look interesting in Japan, thanks to your videos! Nice to see you are finding ways to constantly optimise your living spaces. It's also great your gardening work is starting to bear fruit. (I'm off)

Mama Chan should grow BLUEBERRIES in her garden! 😂😂😂
You can buy the same sesame dressing at Costco in the US.

Wow- that will significantly decrease what we need to take next time! We'll have to check the Costco near us in the US to see if they have it.

Hi! I'm a grower. Your watermelon looks like it is getting too much nitrogen (and therefore producing a lot of foliage but not fruit). It needs a phosphorus and potassium-rich fertiliser and probably a bit less watering! Hope you see this and that it helps.

You could also cut off some of the runners so that the plant focuses on a few productive ones!

Thanks for the tips! With rainy season here, it's getting a lot of rain!! But its fun to see everything grow (except for the weeds)

It's good you have the twins and Sarah and Josh segregated. Girls go through things in their lives that should not be shared with a brother. I know because I had a younger brother and he had a separate room from myself and my sister. The house is really looking lovely. My nan used to grow vegetable marrows and she used to use a little paintbrush to wiggle inside the flowers to pollinate them.
