This is definitely the most fun I've had with a wide angle lens and a micro four thirds camera in a long time. Check it out on Amazon: amzn.to/4966mFp

Jinx. I'm doing a similar video this week. Been shooting buildings with my EM1ii and TTArtisans version. I think they are the same lens. Fixing keystone and fisheye in post is a nightmare 😀

Also, I’ve been enjoying your channel for some time now and definitely don’t think of where you live as rainy!! 🇬🇧

Thanks! We get a surprising amount of rain. We go through these stretches where it rains every day. It’s been crazy lately. We’ve even had tornadoes which we didn’t used to have that often in the past. ⛈️⛈️⛈️

Geez, that old Olympus really kept up and people say micro 4/3 low light sucks

Hey, Steven. It’s really weird seeing you wearing rainwear. Hopefully you’ll get the sunshine back soon. Sounds like an interesting lens, but I’d prefer AF, so the Olympus 9-18 would be more my choice. Or the PanaLeica 9mm.

That is one of those cameras that I hope becomes super cheap so I can pick one up.

I've been using it for over a year, and it's a more than decent lens. It's sharp and doesn't distort the image too much, although I find it too heavy for vlogging while holding the camera by hand.

10:53 if you're working in low light, or any light, with this lens at f/2.8, you'll be at exactly the same ISO on a Micro Four Thirds camera as you would be on a full-frame camera with a lens at f/2.8.

Thanks for clarifying. I was under the impression that since it’s a 5.6 full frame equivalent, you’d be using a higher ISO to compensate. Good to know.
@StephenStrangways4 ай бұрын
@@steve_heise it's the equivalent angle of view and depth-of-field as a 15mm f/5.6 lens on full-frame, but for exposure, it's very much an f/2.8.

Do you know about ttartisan 10mm f2? I think it would be tempting to try it out 👀

I haven’t tried it, but it definitely sounds interesting!

This lens has an original version and a "Mark II." Which one are you reviewing?

Mark II
@StephenStrangways4 ай бұрын
@@steve_heise the Mark II appears to be the same as the Meike 7.5mm f/2.8, but I bought that lens and it was incredibly bad, very smeary in the corners, and I wasn't sure if I just got a bad copy, or if the design was flawed and none of them would ever look decent on Micro Four Thirds cameras. From the look of your footage, I simply got a really bad copy, and you got a good one!

1.7 on m43 is the same as 1.7 on ff.

If I remember correct you need to go into the Olympus menu and enable auto ISO for manual. I know it's stupid but that's how Olympus does it. Also if you was in P,S,A mode and you moved the dial compensation and your in M mode with auto ISO you need to go back to P,S,A mode to put it back to zero. This is what I remember doing wedding photography back in 2018 and it was driving me a little crazy.

Thanks so much for that! I’ll definitely check that out.
