First of all, ask the locals how to prepare the soil there. 😀 They will know what is missing and how you can fix it. Maybe some ash from the fireplace will help the soil. Go fishing, catch fish, bury fish in the garden underneath the plants. That is what Native Americans have done in the past. It seems that if things are not growing, the soil is depleted of nutrients. You must replace them. See if you can dig up some worms or catch some crickets for bait for fishing. You can eat some fish and use the others for fertilizer. If the topsoil of the land is being washed away from flooding, maybe there is a way you can build up some raised garden beds to keep the soil in the garden beds. Find some people to talk to. Hi, the season now in the Philippines is a cool season ranging from November to February of the following year inspite there are some rainy and tropical depression days similar to the Monsoon season of June to October which is more rainy and more of typhoons.
