This is just an epic, inspirational video! Mr. Taffer, through Bar Rescue, had already inspired me to approach a bar with an idea to grow their Sunday business, and they hired me! Building a crowd from scratch is going to be a challenge for this rookie bartender. This video is the next level of awesomeness!

@12:30 and on - don't blame others, blame yourself: Oversimplification. Sure it would be nice and it IS a real phenomenon, that always blaming others thing. However, his advice works for ANYONE but not for EVERYONE (like most of those money-related motivational pieces of advice). Meaning, anyone who follows the advice can have success, so that part is true. But what happens if everyone does it? Then much of that kind of advice falls flat. In this context, there is only so much any given market can take, restaurants, bars etc (or anything else). So when you have only motivated intelligent people who never blame others and try their hardest, you STILL have about the same failure rate. So that kind of advice DOES work - in small doses. Don't try to put any such "motivators" in charge of a country or the world. My comment is specifically about that section around 12,13 minutes ONLY, I didn't watch the rest (not interested, not because I think it's a bad interview; I was only mildly interested in the subject to begin with).
@dantro7810 жыл бұрын
Michael Hasenstein, I agree that motivational speaking often preaches an oversimplified view of the world and the process through which one can better themselves. However, you have to remember that when a motivator steps into a room and speaks to a crowd, if they can reach just one person, they've succeeded. I've worked as a performing musician and music teacher for a number of years. In that time, I've done many seminars and clinics about improving as a musician, largely centered on practice techniques. How many of these young musicians will actually follow my advice and apply the work ethic and approaches I've shown them? Almost none of them. Why? Because that's just the way it is, and I've learned to accept that as such. One can be the most entertaining and effective communicator, but it ultimately is incumbent on the individual to take the advice and apply the work ethic presented. My point is: If only one person in a crowded room hears what Jon Taffer says and they decide to alter their efforts as a result, than the seminar was an overwhelming success.

we sell reactions .....(not foods are just normal thing) -------- i wan'na fail 10:55 -------- you are failing it's other guy fault 12:34 .... this is excuse's .... not a solution -------- you have no motivation to make it better because it is not your fault 12:53 --------- if you can't blame anybody but yourself ..... than you gonna change, you gonna fight it out 13:43 --------- you gotta love the business .... if you love the drinking that is even worse 14:30 --------- when i was young age my mother was very difficult .. so i understood if i don't contro her mood i wa gonna my as* kicked, so very young age i learnt sensitivity, to watch her face, to read her mood, so i developed this skill to sense and feel people 24:22 --------- the biggest fight i have ... turns out biggest hugs in the end 27:36 --------- i don't even make an phonecall, i just make an reaction 29:13 -------- if add doesn't make an reaction.... then its useless/worthless 29:56 -------- so you guys have to create reaction ... otherwise you never can grow that business 30:13 --------- no reaction = no win 31:16 --------- There's one thing that you can't have home - that is (human) social intereaction that is my card 35:55 ----------
