Mate. I was a teacher for awhile years ago now (Not Poker). And I can honestly say, that this video and your teaching style is definitely one of the better tutorials out there on the Internet regarding betting in Hold'em. I really cannot fault your delivery of the content. And this video would be even better, if you made a tutorial about the same betting content as you have in this video. But using many multiple hands starting with every one with the same chip stack, like a new game starting. And then one with everyone having different chip stacks, as if you have just joined an existing game. Excellent video. Subscribed.

Thanks for posting, but I thought that to calculate the pot with pot-limit, you had to multiplie the last bet by 3 plus the tail plus the pot.

Yes, ıt ıs saıd that thıs rukes works: 3(L+T)+S=M L: last wager T: traıl (current bets on the table) S: startıng pot M: Maxımum bet. However, the one you saıd ıs basıcally to multıply the last wager by 3 then add the pot sıze to ıt.

For me the absolute most basic question is this: do I want other people to fold or call? Now this may be obvious to anyone with a bit of experience but, me, I’d welcome a video on this subject. Because I struggle with it. And it really is basic It probably only comes with experience. But the same could be said of any subject in poker and yet people still make videos. What sort of bet keeps people in? What are the dangers of keeping people in. eg straight and flush draws they might have and their chances of making them In reality, it will depend upon context and the players I am up against. But, like I say, it might be helpful to ‘rake over the ground’ on such decisions. Stir up a few considerations. Make us conscious of the sort of considerations to bear in mind. Am I trying to keep them in or scare them out - and in doing so, what does it reveal about my hand. It’s the very essence of poker yet it’s a subject I have never seen covered directly by anyone.

It's not as obvious as it sounds. I feel the same way. When someone raises, sometimes I don't know how to calculate if it's worth it for me to call. I've heard poker players say it's all about equity and figuring out how much money you have in and could make and your outs...

@@daniellenorman498 yes. That’s a big one. And, again, it’s pretty basic. You are deciding how to respond when someone raises. In my case, it’s me in the driving seat. I’ve got a hand that will win for me now but what are the risks of allowing others to stay in to get a better pay-off ... but maybe they’ll go on to beat me.

HORRIBLE strategy in Triple Draw poker....... Mistakes: 1. Keeping the Ace on draw 1. 2. THROWING THE QUEEN AWAY, and calling the bet, to draw to a 4 outer.... 3. Acting surprised when you hit it after stacking the deck..... Other Mistakes... Using white chips as 5$ and red chips as 10$......Are you trying to TEACH people, or NOT? Using the cheapest chips on the planet

Hey thanks for the feedback. Let's take a look at what you said. 1) Keeping the Ace. Could you tell me why you disagree with this action. If I had paired it up I would have had a very nice two-pair. 2) Throwing the queen away to chase a 10. I agree with you that it doesn't follow conventional thinking but eventually you need to abandon conventional, mathematical thinking and trust your gut. 3) My reaction to drawing the 10. Surprised is not an accurate adjective, I was quite literally astonished because I legitimately did not stack that deck. I admit to stacking the deck in the past for demonstration purposes but this was one of those times I let the cards fall where they may. I will also admit that I am not positive that was the first take and I believe I had a hand or two that came up as high card in the course of filming the demo. Re: The chips, I assure you there are cheaper chips on earth. Tragically, the custom set we wanted wasn't an economically feasible option so we settled on the chip set that we could afford. We are constantly trying to improve the quality of our props and studio space so be on the lookout for that faithful day we replace these "cheap chips" with stunningly branded ACG chips with cash denominations printed directly on them.

@@AllAmericanCasinoGuide 1. A reference book, such as Scarne's Complete Guide to Gambling, goes in depth into the math which I cannot do here in a KZbin comment. The odds of improvement are overall better drawing 3 cards. 2. Abandoning mathematical thinking in poker is the most COSTLY thing you can do. Poker is COMPLETELY about people and math. Not about getting lucky. If you don't know that, you should NOT be making instructional videos. 3. Ummmm...OK. 4. Just use real casino chips. You DON'T EVEN HAVE TO BUY THEM! You go to the casino, pay for them, keep them for 6 months, do your videos, bring them back to the casino, and get your money back. Professional and free. I've bought the American Casino Guide every year since 2008. If you need to hire an assistant to help with video production, odds calculation, etc, I am available. I'll even provide chips.

@@CowSaysMooMoo yeah lost me at abandon conventional mathematical thinking and trust your gut lol. I won't lie, and many others can attest, that sometimes intuition is a powerful thing but poker is absolutely about math.
