"Give me that baby, you warthog from hell!" Fun Fact: Frances McDormand and Holly Hunter were roommates at the Yale School of Drama in 1982. Coen Cinematic Universe Fact: H.I.'s (Nicolas Cage) work uniform logo shows he works for Hudsucker Industries, which became the setting of a later Coen movie, The Hudsucker Proxy (1994). Safety Guarantee Fact: The shot where Evelle (William Forsythe) and Gale (John Goodman) stop just before hitting the car seat with the baby in it was filmed in reverse, with the car driving away from the seat. Crazy Hairstyle Fact: According to Ethan Coen, Nicolas Cage was crazy about his Woody Woodpecker haircut and that it reacted to H.I.'s stress level. The bigger the danger he's in, the bigger the wave in his hair gets.

I saw this in theater at 15. At 22 in '93, "Leonard Smalls"/Randall "Tex" Cobb became my neighbor in Nashville. Was when he did episode of "Married With Children" & "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective". Long story, but suffice to say, was a trip to hear "Hey, Dave" at grocery & turn around & see Leonard Smalls!😅 Cool dude! He also still boxed smaller bouts & would stop outside my window every morning to punch the sh*t out of the tree in my front yard before jogging on. Shared a brew here & there, but never talked shop since everybody always fukn with him. Then i moved up the street & heard he died. Then years later found out was his son with same name who'd died, & he moved back to Philly. Hope he's well!🙏❤️ See ya! ✌️🌎❤️

The Coen Brothers were on one when they made this flick! It's absolutely insane and consistently hilarious, and honestly it's just ridiculous how expert the Coens are at writing ANY kind of film, ANY kind of character, in such a way that you'd think they lived those experiences themselves! PS, I think you'll have a BLAST with their crazily underrated 2004 comedy 'The Ladykillers' with Tom Hanks chewing up every inch of scenery in what is, for me, an all-time Hanks role 😂

Born & raised here in Scottsdale, AZ. When this movie came out, a lot of Arizonans did not like this movie. They said this movie made us look like a bunch of hicks. I think this movie is/was hilarious. Filmed in Apache Junction out by the Superstition Mountain. At the time, they actually had convenience stores named Short Stops. This movie actually put Holly Hunter, Nicholas Cage & John Goodman on the map as far as actors. Anyway, really enjoyed your reaction, can't wait for your next one.

I love watching your doggos ramble around on the bed in the background. Leonard Smalls is played here by Randall 'Tex' Cobb, former professional boxer known for his incredible toughness, as well as his tendency to be easily cut in fights. The fighting press said that 'he bled at the weigh-in.' One of his bloodiest matches - against Larry Holmes - was so horrific that it prompted Howard Cosell to give up covering boxing matches forever, and was a key factor in the shortening of championship matches from 15 rounds to 12 rounds.

My personal theory is that Smalls is a tulpa; or "thought form" from Tibetan Mysticism, and he is a reflection of H.I.'s own Jungian shadow self. I like to think that H.I. dreamed smalls into existence, and the nightmare is a manifestation of his own failings as a man and a husband. The "Mr.Horsepower" tattoo on both of their arms is acknowledgement that H.I. and Smalls are one and the same.

Fun drinking game: Whenever you see a picture of Barry Goldwater in the background, do a shot. Shooting at an animal from a motor vehicle would be repeated in O BROTHER and NO COUNTRY. The restroom graffiti is a DR. STRANGELOVE reference. Commandeering a pickup truck recurs in NO COUNTRY; pomade reappears in O BROTHER. This is where I first noticed Holly Hunter. I turned 17 the year this came out. I also lived and still live a mile from the convenient store that he robbed the Huggies from. lol. There was nothing around that store for years and years. Funny story, back then Sep. 2 was first day back to school and also opening of dove season. So all my wrestling football etc. buddies and I would all load into 4-6 cars with all our shotguns and be strapped with pistols and stop at that same store for drinks and breakfast on our way to go hunting. Just the way it was then. Arizona .... lol. Crazier even, we would go with our limits straight to school. The principle would come out and look at our haul and our gear........ way different days. That's how it was in Az back then.... and truthfully, a lot is still the same. Such a good movie. This and Valley Girl Cage is how I think of him. And I had a crush on Holly Hunter for years and years... lol.

Yup! Look at his damn hair is right! It kind of makes you wonder if Nicolas Cage got up and just combed his hair with a balloon! 🎈🎈🎈 #NYGenXBIKERLady

Another good funny movie is “Home for the Holidays” with Holly Hunter. I watch it every year around Thanksgiving or Christmas.
