We love our dairy goats. They have been an invaluable tool for rearing our children with our desired values. Let's all strive to be producers not just consumers!

I got to go see this place last April, and it was amazing how much Ali puts on a small space and is so tidy. Every where you look there is something different that has an artistic touch. Ali and her family is delightful, knowledgeable and so friendly. If you ever have a chance, you should visit. Ali told me April and May are the best months. Thank you!

It was that verse in Proverbs that convinced me to keep my goats when I thought of selling them. 💕

This was really enjoyable! I’m reading Proverbs for my daily Bible reading right now, that’s a great verse! I love how you have the keeping of milk goats down to a system! I couldn’t help but chuckle to myself, when I thought about what the neighbourhood thinks when your family takes the goats for a walk😊.

I think they are used to it!🤣 it’s the people that stay in the nightly rentals that give a second look then start to record it. The funniest was when we were asked what type of dogs are those😂😂

I’ve been waiting for this one! Thanks, Ali!I do have more questions: How did you choose which breed? How did you know they which does you wanted? Are your goats registered? Do you think that’s a benefit? Since you don’t have a buck, how do you get your does bred? How do you do go about selling the kids- FB marketplace or word of mouth or…? What if you can’t sell them? Sorry for all the questions. I’d love to get goats in the next couple years and don’t hear people talk about some of these things. Thanks!

We primarily raise lamanchas but have some nigerian dwarves as well. We love our does and bucks. :) this was great to see how you’re able to raise them on such foot print. It really will help people who want to get a few and maximize their space. ❤

Lamanchas are so cute! That would be my second choice for milk does. I started with Nubian and have never changed other than my little angoras.

Ali you and your family are a true inspiration to me. Keep doing what you are doing Proverbs27:27, you are making a difference and one day, I pray to have faith to quit my full time job and Focus fully on Spreading God’s word, raising my family and homesteading. Thank you for showing us that it can be done! Be blessed💚

This was great! I’ve been trying to figure out if I want dairy goats or dairy sheep. This content was a helpful overview. I’m considering mini Nubians (?) or a hair sheep like the st lacroix. Your goats are beautiful and so well kept!

Cats in the hay that you feed the goats can spread disease and parasites to your precious goats. That hay should be better protected. Otherwise, nice setup. Thanks for sharing.

Wow Ali, you answered a lot for me as I’ve been wanting to get 2 dairy goats. I would be like you where there wouldn’t be a lot of pasture to graze on and now that I see you can do it then I should be able to do it too😄. But one of the biggest questions I have for you is deworming. What’s your advice on that considering they don’t graze out on pasture and are in more of a confined space, thus leading more to susceptibility of worms??🤔🤔🤔
@Alisorganics

I clean their pin daily and feed an herbal wormer about every 6 weeks I believe that where we are at, very hot and low humidity, worms are less of a problem than areas that are humid. Under a microscope they are doing well. That’s a WHOLE other video!

@@Alisorganics OMG cannot wait for your deworming video, that’s where we’re just hanging in should we or should we not with the goats, and sheep also would be great lol, but we have 5 mini horses grazing on 2 of the acres and gardens on the one acre. I loveeeee your setup @ your property, absolutely inspires me!! Thanks for all your advice and real quick what herbal dewormer do you use??🤔

I get it from these folks. hoeggerfarmyard.com/xcart/herbal-supplements/herbal-wormer-1 Sometimes they are slow to get it sent out. Used to be such an awesome company. Went through growing pains. But it’s good. I do make it time to time. it’s nice to have plenty on hand.

Is there a specific grain that you use for your nursing goats? I’ll be getting goats for the first time this spring and there’s so many different options to give your nursing goats it hard to figure out what’s best.

I am using Modesto Millings with added sunflower seed, barley, a little flax seed. Years ago I used purina goat chow, but I feel the quality went down and more than that I wanted organic.

how do you keep yours goats parasite loads down and are Nubians a good choice for a really small family as well as how you keep the milk from tasting goaty?
@Alisorganics
@Alisorganics 3 ай бұрын
I love my Nubians! They do produce a lot of milk. My two girls give me 2.5 gallons a day. I know several people that have smaller breeds for less milk, like Nigerians. I use an herbal dewormer in a regular basis ti keep them healthy. In about a month I will do a complete goat care video and I’ll be sure to include those topics! Thank you!

Bucks do not cause 'goaty' milk. Goaty flavored milk is either genetics or a lack of minerals.

You don't have neighbors complaining about the gates noises or you don't have neighbors complaining about the goat noises or the goat doo doo on the roads boy my neighbors have a fit just the way I am with my what I've got because I refused their cats coming in and killing six of my chickens making one of my ducks legs crooked getting in and making my greenhouse smell like urine and destroying the rest of my yard and then when their cats go bye-bye they don't like it so how do you get by with all this
@Alisorganics
@Alisorganics 27 күн бұрын
No. The goats are generally pretty quiet. Dogs in the neighborhood are louder than the goats. The only time the goats are loud is when we first have babies in the spring. And that is only at feeding time for a few moments. And thankfully we are still kinda country and have good neighbors 😁
