Sprung Trailer (spiritual successor to "Raising Hope"): kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXbFc4h9haapeac A few things I forgot to mention in this vid: 1. Greg Garcia had another show in 2017 called "The Guest Book" which featured cameos by a few "Earl" and "Raising Hope" cast members, but a full reunion was never done for the "Raising Hope" cast on that show. 2. Gregg Binkley (Barney on "Raising Hope") also played Kenny on "My Name is Earl", and was the first person that Earl helped out during his karma quest. 3. "Raising Hope" contains like, half of the "Malcolm in the Middle" cast - and if you were a fan of that show definitely check out "Raising Hope".

I meant that The Office was just exploding in terms of ratings, so some stuffy executive at NBC probably compared the numbers side-by-side and said "axe this 'Earl' show..." I watched raising Hope because it was advertised as from the creator of my name is Earl & I fell in love almost immediately. But at the end of the first episode when Virginia sings Danny's song to Hope I wanted to feel like that forever. Greg Garcia has created two great shows with so much heart & at the same time funny on many different levels a lot of the time. Who else loved the fact Burt had a t-shirt that said I'd rather be in Virginia?

I grew up in a trailer park, and my best friends Mom called me one day and said "I've seen your future" she was talking about Joy from My Name is Earl. For weeks she kept asking me "did you watch it yet?" a few weeks later I watched it, fell in love and told her "I think I'm more of a Patty, thank you very much." It's still the most comforting show to me, I watch it all the time. In my opinion the best episodes are Very Bad Things, Kept A Guy Locked In A Truck with John Waters, Crazy Witch Lady with Betty White. Raising Hope is a great show, but I feel like it goes a little downhill after the middle of the second season when Jimmy and Sabrina finally get together. A Toy Story, Killer Hope, and Blue Dots are my favorite episodes. I've seen it so many times, but still laugh out loud every time Sabrina falls down dressed as Moses. The Guest Book was a cool show, but it's the one I watch the least. I'm really excited for Sprung. Anyway, now that I've exposed myself as a Greg Garcia fanatic, I'll shut up.

As much as I love Raising Hope it felt like to me that it finished at a good time and didn't go to long like other shows and I always feel satisfied with how much of it there is. My Name is Earl it needed another season. I would love for it to have a come back with Earl finishing off his list and flashbacks to the time when the series ended with what happened next similar to the flahbacks that we got from his childhood. I hadn't heard of Sprung until now and really looking forward to it.
@MediaPastimes2 жыл бұрын
If the creator had stayed on, I would've liked 5 seasons - but with his exit I think 4 seasons made sense. But if the Peacock app can produce a MacGruber series based on a movie that bombed at the box office, they should be able to produce an Earl movie. I'd love to see them do one even 15 years later.
@kevindiaz34592 жыл бұрын
So, the way I have heard it (and I have no way to know unless I could ask Greg Garcia himself), Earl wasn't going to finish the list. What was going to happen is at some point someone with a list of their own finds Earl, because he is on it! And he goes down the rabbit hole to find out that several others also have list and are doing good things to make up for their wrongs, and ultimately discovers Kenny (the gay dude that was the first one he helped) was the one that started the whole chain by making his own list too. At this point, Earl sees how much good he has done, and that he no longer needs to keep doing the list anymore, and just starts to live his life as the good person he now is. THAT is the ending we as fans really deserved, and would have been a very fitting end to the series. Shit, I would have settled for just resolving the cliffhanger...

Much like the episode they are flying in a small jet that hits a patch of turbulence. In the movie most of the band members panic and all start to confess to things they've done in the past. In raising hope this happens also, the earl cast starts to confess what they've been holding onto. Im a HUGE fan of all 3 of these projects so I was delighted when I noticed this in raising hope. Hell yeah, also I love the username. McPoyle clan for life! The scene from the "Gang Gets Invincible" episode where they're stepping out of the RV and Charlie is commentating is an all-time classic.

I grew up on My Name is Earl & Yes Dear. Both all time favorites & hilarious series to me. I did watch Raising hope for the first time last year, really enjoyed it. Loved the mini reunions Greg assembled from all of his shows. He is one of the underrated TV showrunners in recent memory. Three great shows imo

Came here from the Pimp My Ride video Also grew up with UG1 and funny to see Lil Jon who had some tracks in the game hosting Pimp my Ride International which in my opinion absolutely slapped and had an all round good vibe. Then I saw Earl and was like *click* Wish we got a final episode and Jason Lee in an interview said he even wanted a finale himself I heard about Raising Hope from a friend and the My Name is Earl facebook group so definitely gonna give it a whirl. Liked n Subbed. Keep it up!

I’m so glad to finally see this show get the love it deserves I would watch this with my family years ago they would play reruns of it and we would just spend the whole day laughing hysterically over it

This was my comfort show growing up, had the entire show on repeat I would fall asleep to it every night

My name is earl and raising hope were my childhood shows. I watched them on repeat with my mom and even though I always knew what would happen the show was so good that it’s fine to rewatch over and over

loved both these shows as a guy who came from a lower class family, and worked the same jobs as they did.

I absolutely remember coming by this show on Netflix as a kid and loving it, it was during the time it was going into its 3rd season. I put my mother onto it and we would watch it as it aired on TV. It was my first fav sitcom at 12, along with New Girl.

Thank you for doing this video, it sucks that raising hope isn't on TV anymore not even on reruns on cable. The clips still make me luagh and it reminded me how much I miss this show.

Yeah it was syndicated for a bit but it’s exclusive to streaming now. Maybe if Sprung does well it will get picked up for syndication again 🤙

Thank you for bringing notice to raising hope I never got to watch it on air maybe if I would have the show would still be on but I was a kid didn’t really have chances to watch shows on TV consistently

Yes yes and yes dude! I loved these shows as a kid. I’m subscribing to ur channel, just watched Heavy weights video and these are 2 shows and a movie I haven’t thought of since that time. As for ur thoughts, they are pretty much the same as I had then and now! Respectfully

I always like to say that "Raising Hope" is to "My Name I Earl" as "Park and Rec" is to "The Office." Just spiritual successors that carry over the vibe perfectly

I am so happy to see a video on this. I revisit Raising Hope from time to time because I just love the family. This really felt like a hidden gem because hardly anyone I know watched it. My best friend and I had a fan theory that Barney is a distant relative of Charles Boyle from Brooklyn Nine-Nine

I remember watching raising hope because it was from the makers of my name is Earl. I recently watched Sprung. That was a really good show as well.

I wished my name is earl had its season 5. Maybe Earl won’t finish his list there. But he would inspire others in writing down their list of wrongful things they done personally and would do anything to make up their sins. Maybe that could’ve ended well for that series. Instead it’s left as a cliffhanger
