I don't think you can say the previous jim carrey movies got great reviews by critics. Keep in mind back then, movie critics were in every town newspapers, some syndicated, many were just locals reviewing movies. There was no real rotten tomato thing you could see for the audience score. And even the exit interviews that you'd see could have always been contrived and not an objective collection of opinions. So what you had was critics who would say things bad about everything except the arthouse oscar bait, or you had people you knew recommending a movie, or not. I ran the projector for a special invite screening prior to the release and the film was messed up, scenes were out of order. Several minutes had issues in it. I'm not sure it would get a good review if people saw that edit and tried to explain to movie goers what to expect.

Nothing knew. Most you early 2000s rappers used trans girls for their videos too. Big pimpin video is know for that. They were cheaper than regular models. Tv is a facade to manipulate your brain into low vibration and unable to compete goals and manifest

As a long time fan of Kevin's movies, I hope I'm not alone in thinking that Clerks 3 kinda... sucked. Was way too depressing, which wouldn't be a huge deal but a lot of the jokes fell flat for me. The performances were fine and the music was good, just the writing was odd. I just really wish it would have been better, same with J&SB Reboot. I can rewatch Clerks 1&2, Mallrats, Dogma, Strike Back, etc a million times but those last two movies just didn't do it for me. His movies were always self-referential but I think it was just too much in the newer ones.

I published this video a few months after seeing Clerks 3 in theaters. The auditorium was packed with View Askew fans, so it was a fun environment and kind of boosted movie watching experience in a lot of ways. Flash forward a few months after uploading this video, I watched it at home and didn't like it nearly as much. He definitely self referenced way too much. That being said, he quit smoking the devil's lettuce last year and has a new J&SB movie in the works. Maybe with a clearer mind he'll go back to writing great jokes again.
@HyperDefectiveКүн бұрын
@@MediaPastimes Good point, yeah I hope he does some more original dialogue with the characters. I still love the guy's stuff and always will. The whole "meta" angle of both J&SB Reboot and Clerks 3 was just way too heavy-handed. I felt like every other joke was just basically "Get it? It's a reboot in a reboot about a reboot but it's totally not a reboot!" I didn't see either in the theater though. Weird how that works, the energy in movie theaters is really something special. I remember seeing Silent Hill Revelation in the theater and having a blast, then watching it a few years later like WTF, this movie blows. Happened with a few others, too. Anyway, great video, it popped up in my recommended and now I've watched like 5 of your vids and subbed lol. Looking forward to watching more.

I am a sucker for Jim Carrey movies, and The Cable Guy is no exception. It would've been really interesting to see the original idea for this film, though. Poor timing on that in hindsight, I suppose, but could you imagine?

I don't think it's fair to say that they made Lloyd the smarter of the two. The issue has always been that he's the more dominant of the two, so he calls the shots despite being just as dumb.

Thanks man I really enjoyed this video. I actually own a Sterio skateboard (along with a Santa Cruiz deck from the early 90s and a Pornstar deck from early 2000s) I live in the UK and those skateboards were really expensive I was lucky to have the Santa Cruiz one as at the time all my mates were riding cheap Turbo 2 boards

That's such a terrible excuse. The writing was lazy and they ripped off countless jokes from the first movie. Like I said at the end of the video, I do like the movie - but it could have been so much better if the people behind it actually put in some effort to write a good story.

You definitely could've counted Nathan For You Finding Frances in this, its technically a tv episode but its the finale and its feature length. In my opinion the best entries in this genre are tv shows. Imo Nathan For You and Nirvanna The Band The Show blow all of these movies out of the water. Anyway I just found your channel tonight and binged most of it, you have exactly the same nostalgia as I do love your videos man
