I’m am soooo glad you guys had this conversation! I just took my 16 month old for his check up. He wasn’t get taller or gaining enough weight according to their charts. But we are very small people. They referred us to a gastroenterologist to make sure he was absorbing all his nutrients. They came to the conclusion that he just wasn’t eating enough. My little guy isn’t a food lover but I offer him everything to try. But these pediatric dietitians gave me a list of foods and shoved animal based formulas at me and said I need to feed him animal fats and sugary foods and the whole list was awful. And I panicked at first and went out and bought all of it. Then I felt so guilty trying to feed it to him. But he didn’t like it anyway and won’t touch it. But I am focusing on trying to get enough plant based fats and nutrients in him. It is so hard to get him to eat. Can’t wait for the book!

The more you guys talk, the more I get how awesome my own parents were about my strange diet because I didn't like meat (or oranges so they got me juice) but loved rice and veggies. They never ridiculed or told me to eat differently (though my Granny told me if I ate too much rice I'd turn into a Chinaman😂). I followed that relaxed eating in raising my children. They both have a very good relationship with food. Who knew those ole hillbillies had it right! 😁

Me and my family have been WFPB for 9 years - big fans of Rip of course. But you're missing a big part of the equation when you discuss gluten - best to have Dr. Zach Bush on as a guest. The reason no one had allergies when you were growing up is mostly due to the fact that Round Up wasn't being blasted into our environment (land, air and water). This breaks down the gut barrier for many which is why they struggle with gluten. A good alternative is the less hybridized wheat found in Italy - Jovial Foods makes pasta from it - Einkorn wheat. The other issue has to do with viral loads: if someone has higher than normal range viral loads, then both gluten and soy can feed those viral loads (corn, eggs and heavy metals also feed viral loads). I believe this will be common knowledge in ten years time time - in the meantime, we need to be open and adapt for the benefit of others.

If you raise a baby on only plants, you should go to jail for child abuse

Most of the world would be in jail. In other countries where meat is not as accessible as it is in the US or UK, most people eat vegan or plant based due to necessity. They are alive, healthy and live into old age with little to no medicines.
