Her ER turns into electro dmg after ascending to 60/70, thats why you can get away with an atk goblet since she'll already have a lot of electro dmg in her kit :)

The reason some prefer attack goblet is because: -Emblem set gives Elemental Burst DMG Bonus -Electro DMG Bonus and Elemental Burst DMG Bonus are additive By 300 ER, she gets 75% Elemental DMG Bonus (max from emblem set) and 80 Electro DMG Bonus (passive). This leads to low on Attack (or rather gain more if atk goblet) since her sands is using ER and already has 155 DMG Bonus on burst. Tho for plebs who are not using engulfing lightning, normal build (atk electro and crit with "the catch" /ER weapon) is recommended

To simply explain is: 5 x 5 = 25 6 x 4 = 24 And you can think DMG Bonus is the first number, and Attack is the second. If it's too much, rather give it to second num and balance it, total output will be higher

Raiden's normal attacks don't affect her burst attacks, since those are counted as burst dmg. Also, sadly beidou's q doesn't proc while raiden's in her sword form, since they only work with normal attacks, not burst attacks

Its recommended to go ATK% goblet if you go ER% sands because the electro% goblet would be based on your attack, and your attack would be very low so you'd get more off of going atk%

Without bogging you down with a math lesson, if built correctly her 2nd passive will innately grant her well over 60-70%+ electro damage already, however, she has no way to boost her raw attack so using an atk% goblet will be a much larger boost in her damage than more electro% based on how damage is calculated in this game.

It’s not that too much electro damage is bad. It’s just better to get more atk% once your electro dmg bonus is high enough because the dmg multiplier is multiplicative. An easy way to explain this is like 5x5=25 is better than 9x2=18. At least thats how I understand it. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

Your right for general play, but if you run an attack buffer like Bennett or Sara with Raiden. It’s better to have an electro goblet because your getting a 600-900 attack boost on a good / decently built Bennett or Sara. TDLR: run a combination of ER (or attack) sands and Attack goblet for general use. Or use ER (attack) sands with an electro goblet if you plan to use an attack buffer.

It's "Diminishing returns" in the sense that because you're building so much Electro dmg, there's an opportunity cost in terms of the potential dmg you can get via building other stats instead, aka ATK, Crit etc. However, if you're using Bennett, Sara, Yoimiya or some other char with Noblesse Oblige, who can buff up your ATK, then since Electro dmg>ATK, and you're already getting more ATK from other sources, Electro dmg goblet is thus better. This has alrdy been debunked in Raiden mains.

The sum of both stats adds up to 80 but the more even spread produces a higher overall result. Goin too hard into electro dmg% while neglecting atk a bit too much would be similar to picking 20 x 60 over 40 x 40 in this case. This is also why like you said having a benny around can really help even the playing field cuz it helps a ton with making the ratio nicer.

The idea behind the Atk% Goblet is that you don't want to stack too much Damage% into one pot. Basically all damage modifiers(Electro damage%, burst damage mods from her ult stacks and Emblem, etc) are calc'd in a different pot from Atk%, so when you stack a ton of one and not the other, your returns diminish. The common example is 5x5=25, but 6x4=24, and 7x3=21, and so on and so on. She gets an Electro Goblet's worth of damage% for free from her passive if you stack enough Energy Recharge, but she's missing Atk% elsewhere from her build, so an Atk% goblet balances that out for more damage.

Do not build beidou to pair her with raiden, that is because Raiden’s ult doesnt allow beidou’s ult to proc in her own ultimate duration. This is the result of either a glitch, or an unnanounced nerf, since raiden worked with beidou in the beta.

@@MTEllipsis Mihoyo has confirmed this is the intended interaction and not a bug. Fischl c6 and XingQiu procs on PERFORMING a normal attack, while Beido works on HITTING a normal attack. Raiden performs normal/charge attacks, but does a hit of elemental burst damage, which is why Fish and XQ works but not Beido. That being said I do hope they change it so it does work, it feels really unintuitive. Anyway hope this helps explain it.

In reference to your comment about diminishing returns and electro cup: There are no diminishing returns for offensive stats in Genshin Impact. In a vacuum, more electro damage is better. However, people are trying to maximize a damage equation where they optimize each offensive damage multiplier category. Having more electro damage multiplier means you have less of another which may mean you end up with less damage overall depending on stat balance but also how the individual game budgets each offensive stat in their itemization implementation. The best approach, if you want to disregard all the optimization mathematics, is just to balance your stats and understand which category of multiplier each offensive stat falls under. Another general rule of thumb is to always make sure you have representation from each offensive multiplier available. The individual categories are additive and don't scale as well as adding another multiplier to the damage equation. For example, if you have no electro damage multiplier at all, you are missing a ton of damage because that multiplier would be absent from the damage equation causing you to miss out on a ton of damage.

As a free to play I feel sooo lucky I got her^____^ It just so happened that I lost the 50/50 on Ayaka's banner and skipped Yoimiya's banner so I saved up the primogems and got my guaranteed Ei on this banner ^_____^ Shes currently level 40 and I want to raise her, but I want to get "the catch" first so I can raise them both at the same time. I'm also going with electro damage goblet and attack % sand. If both the weapon and the artifact set give her ER I don't think ER sand is necessary especially if her ER is that high from just leveling her up. Plus I'll make sure there are ER sub stats on her artifacts. raising her will take so much time and resin :DDD

since you have engulfing lightning, your ideal artifact main stats will be energy recharge, electro, crit. an atk goblet only applies if you dont have alot of atk on her and you’re purely stacking energy recharge to make use of her passive and emblem. in the long run electro dmg bonus goblet will increase her dmg if you can get atk from other places like bennett, sara, and her weapon

So, about ATK% goblet She has so many Bonus% increases(which all stack additively), that a ATK chalice scales better. She has: - Emblem conversion to Burst% - Talent conversion of ER to Electro% - Burst% (If using the catch) You don't have much option for ATK% if you use a ER sand(Which you should, to boost the emblem, the engulfing lightning(if you have it) and her ER to Electro%), so you "sacrifice" the goblet to have more even distribution between raw attack and damage boosts(think like Crit, you need to have a good division between them to maximize output)

The reason why u want to run ATK% Goblet when running ER sands is because Raiden will lack ATK if she doesn't Also, Raiden's Burst doesn't work with Beidou's Burst

You have her weapon that's why it synergizes with the ER/ATK/Crit build since it uses your ER stat to add up to your attack. Also, Raiden utilizes her ER on her whole kit (her electro DMG, her battery ability, 90-cost burst) that's why you need to go overboard with ER. Electro DMG has diminishing returns above 100% like ATK% and afaik, that only adds up to the 4pc Emblem set bonus so using a electro cup has lesser value. Also 4pc Emblem refers to your ER as well so in summary: ER/ATK/Crit is the way to go. There are people saying that you can also run ATK/ATK/Crit but personally, I'd like to use her burst more often so I opted with her suggested build above.

about the electro goblet i think what those people mean is that if you already have sufficient electro dmg bonus, you should go atk for more consistent dmg (especially if you're going ER sands or if you're building her sub dps) but just choose the one with better substats. that statement is relevant for mostly mid maxers and 80% of the player base. also since you got the signature weapon which has a lot of atk, an electro dmg bonus goblet would do just fine. just make sure electro dmg bonus doesn't go over 100%

Hey. We have the same attack stat. Her ultimate is out of this world BTW. Best support with any proper damage dealer, and a decent damage dealer herself. People, pull for her if you can. If you get decent artifacts and a proper weapon for her, you can one shot hordes of Nobushi's pretty easily.

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned, but all Oceanids are originally from Fontaine, and they left Fontaine because they didn't like the hydro archon or smth, I don't really remember the details from the Endora (Aka Baby Oceanid) event. So basically there's gonna be more elemental Oceanids in the future I guess. But Electro Oceanid fits the title more than the thundering whatever 😂

About Electro vs Atk goblet. there's really nothing wrong with going Electro. if you have one with really good substats, go for it. But it's always better to try to balance your atk/dmg+/crit dmg in order to maximize damage. And when Raiden easily gets 60% Electro dmg+over 60% Burst damage off of just her passive+4p Emblem, the Dmg+ stat is already getting stupid high, so using ATK goblet to balance things out is better. Especially considering you'll be running ER sands most of the times, leaving you with an even bigger atk% deficit. Grasscutter does tend to push Electro a bit further, but the difference is so minimal anyway you can just use whatever has better substats

to explain element % bonus the easy way is that it scales with your ATT% so in a sense it would be better to just run ATT%. YOU STILL CAN RUN ELECTRO % but if you want more damage go att% this is mostly valid for anyone with high energy recharge / running wep with energy recharge

People were talking about using atk% for goblet since she would lack atk from using energy recharge in the sands. However, since you have her weapon which buffs her atk, if you use her in a team with 2pyro, or bennett or kujou sara buff, or other characters with 4 pc noblesse (basically something that already buffs your team's atk) I don't think it's a problem to go with electro goblet. if you use kazuha with her tho I'd go with the atk thing. since you have her weapon thats really good for her, you can choose and try to balance her multipliers

4:30 for the maths why electro damage has deminishing return especially on the engulfing lightning is because of the calculation atk x atk% x other dmg bonuses% example: 2000atk x 1.4 atk% x 1.4 dmg bonus = 3.920 2000atk x 1.8 atk% x 1 dmg bonus = 3.600 2000 atk x 1 atk% x 1.8 dmg bonus = 3.600 it's always best to have a 1:1 ratio of attack and dmg bonus(elemental dmg in this case), baal gains too much of electro damage bonus which is why we have to equalize it with atk% goblet in this case. most other characters dont have this "problem" since there are a lot of other atk% boosts and too little elemental damage bonuses

You just need to get 200% energy recharge lmao, she also utilizes 4-pc Emblem of Severed Fate fully so yeah it's best in slot for her. If you use her E you need to do all of her teammates' Q's then do her Q because elemental bursts power her E so you do more damage. After you do her Q you use her until her Q is gone. You don't need to run atk on her goblet but if you want to it's fine, you also don't need energy recharge on your sands/sans (idk). If you level 90 her "signature weapon" it gives 50% energy recharge. *Artifacts:* 4 - piece Emblem of Severed Fate Circlet: Crit rate/Crit dmg (Go for crit dmg if you have 50%+ crit rate) Goblet: Electro dmg bonus/atk Sands/sans: atk/elemental mastery/energy recharge Sub stats: (on all artifacts) EM, ER, Crit rate, and Crit dmg (one can be replaced with atk percent) (Edit: "The Catch" is also her best in slot F2P weapon if you don't wanna roll on weapon banner cause it's a scam. For showcases, 80/90 seems best. You often get a boost from ascending (crit, elemental, etc etc). All my characters get pushed to 80/90, any additional leveling is from organically accrued exp. (only 1 lvl81 right now)

About the electro dmg goblet: The thing is that "special dmg buffs" like Ult dmg are summed so let's say you have 20 electro (from passive) and 60 from emblem set. It would be 80% bonus. Because it's not multiplicative , if you add the goblet instead it would be 80% to 100% it would be a 25% increase. But if you had only 20% but put a goblet end goes to 60% that is a 200% increase!

The ER Sands basically become your elemental damage goblet increase and to make up for not using an attack sands (which is a LOT of atk%) you use an atk goblet. If u use an ER sands AND an elemental goblet, you have a shit ton of electro dmg but no ATK. And ER sands is better than ATK% sands because it gives u the ER you NEED for Baal to fuel her 90 energy cost. It's a 2 in one win win, therefore ER Sands, ATK goblet is the best configuration

If you need anything to respawn fast such as bosses just interact with anything such as find hili to beat or samurai to beat the go back to the boss you were waiting for it to respawn then boom has respawn so it doesn't matter even if u killed the hili in 5 sec.. will make boss to respawn ASP. But if you are on someone's world it means applies to the owner of the world but for the co-opt has to leave the area while the owner of the world interact with hili killing or samurai killing doesn't matter for the boss to respawn

Just a quick info, maybe someone already said it, i'll do it anyway: ATK% goblet is better for a mainly sub DPS build, because if the ATK is low, the damage that is increased by Electro DB is too low, what you can do is use bennetts ult and/or Sara to buff her ATK, which will result in a pretty similar number, only around 2-5k difference from my testing, but if you don't want to use buffs for all the open world enemies, an ATK% Goblet is better. If you want to Buff, then ATK is still a little bit better but not by much. Oh and if you have her weapon this change again, because the passive already buffs her atk.

As f2p the attack goblet helps because without her weapon it's kinda hard to reach a decent amount of attack , it's easier to get really high energy recharge and then by her passive getting a decent amount of electro dmg . But all depends in the artifact rolls

Damage in this game is multiplicative, so when people say there's diminishing returns on a stat, it really just means you are going to get more out of going into another stat. Simple math example: say you have 100% in two separate stats, and you have 100% more to allocate between them. You could go all in on one of them, which nets you 200% * 100%, which is just 200%. If you go 150% on both though, you get 150% * 150%, which is 225%. That's why you want a 2:1 ratio of crit damage to crit rate for those to be optimal.

I rolled and got her currently running Eula, Shogun (Ei), Rosaria, and Bennett shogun is running ER sands and Atk Gob and is running my lvl 90 Deathmatch and is genuinely the best character to put into that comp cause using her E then using the bursts of all other characters gets her to like the last 1/6 of her charge then if u have good ER on your supports you cast them again and then go to town with Shogun’s burst

For the electro dmg, here is a quick and simple explanation : If you do 100 electro dmg and got 50% electro dmg bonus, you got 150 dmg. If you have 50% electro and 50% atq, you got 225 dmg (150 × 150%). If you have 100% electro, you do 200 dmg. So it's better to try to have atq% and electro dmg% to be the same as much as possible, and since you have ER sands, you can go for atq% goblet

She's a top tier character hands down. I pair her with Yoimiya or Mona or really any dps that applies elemental damage and Baal's passive creates reactions every second. Her ER abilities restore your party's energy so fast that you're bursting all the time not to mention how she can be viable dps too. Got her to 90 day 1 she's amazing. ALL HAIL RAIDEN SHOGUN

The reason Elemental DMG Bonus doesn’t work past a certain point is because it’s additive, not multiplicative. So 46.6% Electro DMG Bonus is +46.6%, not “times 146.6% (1.466).” As such, when optimizing stats, +100% will give more damage than +46.6%, but ATK will scale better with lower Elemental DMG Bonus because you can only choose so many stats, and in Raiden’s case, giving her ER (250ish) gives her enough Electro Bonus without using the main stat slot on the cup, where ATK gives her bigger total stat gain and damage after all calcs.
