In regards to Yoimiya's ultimate - your other characters can proc it even if they aren't on the field! For example, if you use your burst with Xinqiu, then swap to Yoimiya, cast her burst, then auto attack, the swords from Xinqui's burst will proc Yoimiyas burst even though Yoimiya is on the field! Any character with a skills which does damage when they are off the field works the same way (e.g. Xiangling burst, Beidou burst, Fischl skill, Albedo skill, etc.)

Yoimiya is good but has her flaws. Like her ult which could have been much better and seems like it was just rushed. Her charge attacks are kinda useless outside of farming, and they take a lot of time to charge too. She is good and has great design but has the fate of albedo that is of being skipped due to incoming character that is more interesting or more wanted by the community. she really is i got lucky with artifacts for her (4pc shimenawa) and have in total ~62 crit rate and ~170 crit dmg with r2 rust the average damage is 7-10k without reactions for now i'm trying to get her bow from weapon banner so she could do much more damage :) upd: she deals around 15k, still without her bow sadly

I like that Mihoyo is producing kits that work for all types of playstyle. I've said it since the beginning, all of the characters are viable if built/played properly. I'm constantly switching from Ningguang, Hu Tao, and Kazuha. Yoimiya will be added to that when I get her.

Totally agree with this. When I decide which characters to raise, I think about how they are going to impact my overall playstyle and my willingness to log in every day. Leveled Tartaglia b/c he's my favorite story-wise, his E is fast and fun, and I find the knockback effect when he does a charged bow shot interesting (controversal statement be damned). I leveled Kazuha because his swordwork is super fast, jumping to gather enemies never fails to make me grin, and he's great for exploration. Yoimiya is a fire-based speed demon. I have a level 90 Diluc and while I appreciate him, he's slow. I tried leveling Yanfei, but her style just didn't totally gel with me. I own Hu Tao, but I'm legally blind so monitoring her health for best imput would be difficult. Yoimiya, I can do. She's already clearing wl8 Inazuma dailies at lvl 50, and has successfully killed lvl 60 Azhdaha and lvl 60 and 70 Childe. She has a ways to go, but I can see the potential, and I can see that I like her playstyle. Plus (talking aesthetics for a moment) her hairpiece jingles when she walks, which I find adorable. So, she's gonna be joining my active team(s). Very excited!!

I like more team comp than just one character carry due to being putting all eggs into one basket will hurt you more in the long run. Constant dps is much better than just burst dps that need to hit perfectly to work. And I know burst will suffer latter on if the enemies have more I frame mechanics or mechanics that evaded the excessive usage of burst character. IE blocking.

But it a good thing, burst character in other similar game like genshin is a hassle to play but satisfying and skilled player can use them as an advantage because they can time the perfect moment to deal nuked damage. Most enemies before this is just mindless meat sack for these characters to punch which is not fun to play, more difficult enemies like dashes or mechanics may seem bullshit but I rather have those than paper enemies. I enjoy a challenge one or twice and Inuzuma actually spike my satisfaction more with it enemies.

She is just fine imo. Not broken Tier like Ganyu or Hu Tao, but pretty decent. Biggest draw back is her little AoE dmg, but you can work around that with certain team comps. Was 100% worth the pull though:)

Thing is, she isn't even decent. The most powercreeped character in the game, Diluc, is even better than her in most scenarios. Hell, i'd argue even Yanfei can outperform her. She has a 2.5 second ICD on ult, useless charge shot, she can't reliably vape, and as you said, a horrible lack of AOE. In a game which shoves a lot of enemies in your face.

@@Starvona hmm yes, weaker than every 5 star dps that's not Keqing (Diluc with XQ can dish out similar numbers BUT in an aoe) Yoimiya has several problems that have been listed several times by people who play tested her: - She has ICDs that doesn't allow her to vape consistently in comparison to other carries like Diluc, Hu Tao, and Xiang Ling. - Even if you try to use her as a role similar to Childe, the ICDs hinder her from proccing Overload or Melt consistently. Childe applies Hydro so fast that Xiang Ling and Beidou are able to vaporize and electro-charge (Even if EC is still random) every hit. - Auto targeting still kind of sucks in this game as you can accidentally home on those small pests called cicin mages. Her range is also actually pretty small when catalyst users like Yanfei can act as a sniper from a far in comparison so if you're somehow interrupted, you would lose a significant amount of damage as her last few strings deal a lot of damage iirc. - Her AOE is even smaller than Hu Tao, someone who's AOE is already pretty small. How does this look "decent" to you?

Seeing the way her Burst works, it looks like she'd pair really well with Ayaka. Pop Yoimiya's Burst > Switch to Ayaka then use her Burst > Back to Yoimiya and just watch the enemy melt with Ayaka detonating the debuff while Yoimiya machine guns them to death.

That doesn't work, all of her kit has a 2.5 seconds ICD, Ayaka's burst lasts for 5 seconds, so theoretically you can proc melt only twice, and in real life situations you can expect it to proc melt only once during Ayaka's burst. Edit: you can still use that rotation(I'm planning to use that rotation myself if I win the 50/50) just don't expect it to proc melt more than twice.

I'm using rosaria with yoi and bennett, rosaria doing 400k of melt burst (if everything crits, almost 70% crit rate) while yoi does about another 100-150k i'd say, plus about an extra 50k of burst ticks which get proc'ed by rosaria ult exactly every 2 sec, which is yoi's burst tick cooldown

yoimiya has one of the most interesting kits in the game so far. she's quite literally a team player. a lot of meta players complained that her showcases are a showcase of her supports rather than her, but i think thats the point. its similar to childe's situation, but while childe still has a nuke ult, yoimiya goes in the opposite direction of complete support, which works just as well. i currently run her with xingqiu, fischl on 4pc tenacity and stringless, and bennett on 4pc noblesse, and theres so many small numbers, and some big vapes, that absolutely shred every enemy one by one I dont have ayaka but i imagine yoimiya's gonna be an insane sub dps in ayaka's team judging from some of the melts i saw her do in co-op. you can use ayaka as main dps, use her burst, switch to yoimiya for massive melts, use her burst then swap back to ayaka for even more melts. the two seem to have really good synergy with each other

I’ve been using Yoimiya and Ganyu together, and they’ve been really fun. When Ganyu’s burst is up I use Yoimiya’s auto attacks. Then when Yoimiya’s burst is up, I switch to Ganyu’s charged attacks. I finally have a character that I like running a melt comp with Ganyu, using Xiangling for it always felt awkward

Because of the Q ability, you want to use E until out of duration, Q after you are out and then switch to a DPS with a high E cool down, EX Childe, to use until she has her E back

My wife teases me about Yoimiya being my teenaged-self's obligatory Rule 64 weebtastic self-insert OC; watching the story with her she just slow-panned to stare at me the whole time. Yomiya is so ADHD it actually feels nice to have some representation! Also I have a C0 Hu Tao with no Staff of Homa that has been basically impossible for my pro-chef/welder's mitts to handle the animation canceling, not to mention I'm playing on my new phone a lot more. Yomiya is like EZ mode Hu Tao for all of us with boomer hands lololol

Just a tip: You probably should avoid upgrading her basic attacks since her elemental skill is a direct counter to it. Whatever damage the elemental skill says, she will do. Like tartaglia.

um the way i read it is that it increases damage based on basic attacks then converts to pyro so how would that counter? from my yoimiya both still increase damage of her pyro infused attacks.

I'm pretty sure Yoimiya's skill increases the damage of her basic attacks based on their scaling and its own. Like, if Yoimiya's skill said 150% normal attack damage, it would take the scaling for each hit from the basic attack talent, then multiply it by 1.5 to get the total. If there was a separate multiplier for each hit in the sequence under Yoimiya's skill though, I would agree with you.

You can pear her with Xainling because her ultimate will count as Xainling hitting the enemies. So you cast Yoimyia ultimate then switch to Xainling and cast her ultimate then switch back to Yoimyia and do damage while Xainling ultimate is activating the debuff from Yoimyia’s ultimate

At c1 my Yoimiya does about 14 attacks with her E that do around 15-30k each. Max she would do is 420k damage in total. If mihoyo had just given her one single attack of 300-420k damage with her e and same cooldown people would say she's op.

Try it in tandem with Ayaka, if you take the Ayaka's ultimate, and Yoimii's standard attacks with Bennett's buffs, then you can do a huge amount of damage) one Korean, was able to hit with a normal attack up to 350,000 damage!
