In addition to how much safer it is having help, you are employing people, giving people opportunities to live and work on a sail boat and providing social exposure to your children who live remotely most of the time. Small abode, loving parents, gorgeous happy children and a great support team (way more than 'crew') ... makes for a special home. Whether on land or sea ... this is how we should live - small, cosy and mostly self sufficient. Living in touch with nature and knowing how to navigate each day - is powerful and rewarding. my opinion on the negative comment: why do they want ppl to have an even more difficult time? do they think sailing should be grueling and dangerous at all times or else it isn't sailing? the whole point in sailing is to sail, doesn't really matter how you do it as long as you're as safe as you can be.

Hey David, take an elastic string (rubber line) and stretch the rubber line as you tie both ends on the fishing line (close to the boat). When you release the rubber line, as it constricts, it will make the fishing line lose in that small part). Once you're fishing- when you see the rubber line is stretched out - you've got a fish! :) A cheap and easy way to tell you have cought something.

I have just started watching your channel this last month and I binged watched most of your episodes. I am so excited to see your next adventure at my part of the world (I am from Malaysia). I even got my Asian land bound parents hooked on your channel and to consider getting a boat and just sail during their golden years. I would love to be able to sail the seas right now, but until it can be financially viable and workable for my life, I am living vicariously through your channel. Both of you are doing an amazing job raising a family on the seas. Us land people take for granted the amenities available on land and we don't appreciate it. Therefore, I think you should NEVER EVER feel bad for having crew on board to help you. I cannot ever imagine how you would be able to stay safe as a family without your crew! I also love your crew and I do hope we get to see more of Andre at some point. Anyhow, keep doing what both of you think is best for your family and ignore the haters and trolls. Looking forward to your next episode! If you are in Malaysia I hope I could meet all of you.

Definitely a pasta bowl person here. My kids are half-grown now, so they entertain themselves. But, when they were small, I made sensory boxes with different pieces of clothing or fabric, homemade playdough, or we cooked. Entertaining kids: Chasing them around the house or playground, reading to them, educational programs on the computer, such as the Stuart Little and Jump Start programs, stacking building blocks, which is very difficult to do on a sailboat, drawing, coloring, having them help me with basic chores - works only if I'm doing the chore with them!

8:30 I used a short piece of very light fishing line and a strong bungee cord instead of a clothespin and tying the line directly to the cleat. The light fishing line would set the hook, then break with a pop to announce the fish. After the light line breaks, the bungee cord gives some shock absorption so the hook won't straighten out. I like the bell idea.

From a family law expert (literally) you are doing the "right thing" by having a nanny. You two are amazing!

I really get how you two are trying to do something exceptional for yourselves and your two little boys. Darwin is the spitting image of how my son looked at that age. Thanks so much for sharing all those beautiful moments with Lenny as he is learning to communicate and use language while having a hoot doing it. I'm usually not a big fan of couples showing their kids to the world cos of all the sick nonces out there or because the parents themselves are exploiting their kids. But I really feel you guys have got them as the best protectors should. You two have really got this. Cheers from Northern Rivers NSW.

In Italy you eat pasta often from a piato Fondo, meaning a deep plate. Not quite a bowl, but deeper than a plate.

Loved the episode! It's magical to watch the children show their own personalities when they grow up and Lenny is in that age where it all goes so fast! If you continue that life style in just another 10 years the kids will be able to run the boat for a day or so without the parents!

Beautiful channel. Better then tv. The world is full of negativity. This channel is joy. Thanks for documenting and sharing your adventure.

Perhaps only one couple in millions could have come as far as you two, now four. Bless you all.
