Raising walleye at the Wray State Fish Hatchery; Stocking Prewitt Reservoir

Every year, the Wray Hatchery receives between 70−100 million walleye and saugeye eggs. These eggs originate from two broodstock spawning operations located at Cherry Creek and Chatfield Reservoirs, although in 2021 they came just from Cherry Creek and Lake Pueblo. Eggs are sorted, sized and transferred into spawning jars, where they are kept for nine days before hatching. After hatching, they are transported all across the state to restore fish populations in lakes and reservoirs. In this video, over four million walleye fry were stocked into Prewitt Reservoir.

I'm not impressed! Seriously! So, boat go fast! 1 million fish, dumped in the middle of the lake! What's the survival rate to reproduction age? 10 ? My engineering feelers tell me somethings fishy. Especially when dealing with Local water holes over fished, understocked, and seriously overpriced, and underpatroled, with potty water. How is human waste and snot nosed covid contact affecting the waters? What did the nets tell you? No offense, the entire Denver area is in bad need of a clean up! The only water hole that has any chance of being normal is Cheeseman and a couple other higher elevation lakes. One would think with lottery income, pot tax, park fees, along with M.I.P.''s and boat infractions, the budget should be overflowing. Especially since it's so evident little is going to the hwy and bridge dept, the roads suck. Oh hush, i realize a healthy balance is required to have a healthy fish population. However the balance needs to also be in check with the people, to water as well. What would you say the average total of fisherman per day? The amount of fingerings/cigars swallowing hooks that will not make it per day? Asking as a native old timer!

There's something called the general fund and the Colorado people voted for their conservation dollars to go into the general fund leaving parks and wildlife pretty much broke.
