Joe thank you for covering this beautiful beast. I would definitely get this over a Huracan STO. The STO is an amazing car but if I got it, I know I would be getting it to show others I got a Lambo although I am a fan of the Tecnica. With this GTD I know I would be getting it because I want it and want to drive it. Too bad it is so hard to get one which makes me think if I had close to the money I would get a Mustang Shelby Cobra Super Snake with a manual. As always Lori that was some amazing camera work. You and Joe got some sort of psychic connection to work as seamlessly as you do together.

Ford took a lot of cues from the GT3RS. Most obviously in the front fender vents and the swan neck rear wing. Great review under pressure!

The GT3RS wasn't the first car to use front fender vents or swan neck rear wing, hell most IMSA race cars are all built with that, so it's not Porsches idea, it's how all race cars are built if you want the best results.

I know the 911 GT3 RS is in this car’s sights for Nurburgring production car records, but I think it’s going to be especially interesting to compare the track performance between this and the ZR1. Especially when this thing is going to be 325K MSRP and it’s estimated the ZR1 will be under 200k. I guess that’s a moot point though since Ford is only building an initial 1000 of these and they already have over 7500 applicants trying to purchase.

I gotta be honest, I would rather drive the Corvette ZR1, but own the GTD Mustang. Mustangs, generally speaking, are much more collectable than Camaros or Corvettes ever have been. Very few "investment" cars around any more, but Ford has made these Mustang trims in the "last gas powered" versions seem very long-term-hold desirable. GM really never got the concept even though Yenko basically showed them the way. GM refuses to even be force fed collectability.

At 325k base (closer to 375 with options) really a hard decision to make over a gt3 rs. Its really close but that porsche crest does hold alot more weight.
