Is the NEW 2021 GMC Yukon SLT the best SUV for the money?

The ALL NEW Yukon is finally making its way to dealerships and GMC has brought out all the stops. Under the hood is a 5.3L V8 that is pumping out 355HP & mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The exterior of the SLT features bright polished 20in wheels, running boards and lots of bright work trim. On the inside you will find a totally reworked cabin, infotainment system and lots of seating space. Is the 2021 GMC Yukon the BEST full size SUV for the money?

I've watched Joe for a few years now and he gives about the best reviews of anyone...and with great humor. I believe my wife will love this 2021 Yukon SLT. She really likes the looks of the Denali but there are a number of things we can use the extra savings on (+/- $20k). There is currently more DEMAND than SUPPLY (June 2021) but as soon as they start rolling back in I believe you have really helped make up our mind on a full size SUV! THANKS!!!!!!!

I remember when 20 inch rims were big. Those rims are a great size since the tires are so massive already, can still do some light off-roading and the ride will be more comfortable. 5.3 V8 is really all you need. Still has a great exhaust

We went with the 2021 SLT and Love it! Has everything the Denali has save power running boards, Hud display, 22 inch rims, movable console in the middle, and the air suspension. All of those we didn't want or need so if you don't mind not having the Denali name save yourself 35k.

Joe, you didn’t mention GM’s rearview camera. I thought all of the new GM SUV’s had those standard. I would be disappointed if a $60k + SUV did not have that as a standard feature.

I absolutely love the Denali Duramax, however, once I found out about the DEF I almost fell over. Too bad you can't put Hot Shots in every new tank full and call it a day. I guess this Yukon is second on the list. Thanks Joe.

I just bought the SLT. I saw the Denali as well and I felt the Denali interior was too prone to damage. The cross stitching on the seats especially seemed like they could be ripped easily.

Likely trading in my Pacifica for a Yukon SLT next week for the family. Test drove it the other day, what a smoooooth ride. Amazing SUV. Just a shame that GMC doesn’t offer 360 surround camera and heated steering wheel as standard features. Especially in Canada, to give the customer heated seats but not wheel seems really dumb.

The Denali has all the chrome and that massive infotainment screen etc but this is just right in there. Add one or two options and you'll be good to go with this one. The dimensions of the infotainment screen in the Denali is identical to the size of the infotainment screens in the lower trims, it’s just integrated differently and I think that makes it look much larger and grander because it’s closer to you and looks best with other interior parts *around it* complimenting the screen vs. it being a stand alone sticking up out of the dash. I think that makes it look smaller. Ford tried to do both with a screen that’s implemented so low into the dash there is no room for buttons underneath so they’re on the sides of the screen. But it’s a vertically styled integration and the screen is so tall it’s left sticking straight up out of the dash, and for reason cord thinks this looks good. Anyway I like both flavors of what GMC is offering here.

I am so glad I bought a 2020 Yukon SLT with hardly any miles on it for a "USED" price. I wish it had the newer suspension set up, if I'm being honest, but that's it. The interior of this new Yukon looks not at all truck like, which is why so many bought this before, and overall just odd to me. I don't want push button shifters or digital screens on my dash, other than to display MPH... maybe I'm an odd ball but I'm not feeling the front end of these, either. The last gen looked classy out front, this one looks... not.

Joe: has GM addressed the transmission issues and corrected them with the '21 models? I've seen story after story of failing transmissions and a class action lawsuit for most of their full size '15-'19 models having major shifting issues or having to be outright replaced.

A side benefit of the Chip Shortage is deletion of one major item that to me was a major technology fail and should have at least given the customer have a way of permanently disabling the system….Auto Stop/Start. I got my Tahoe and pretty much every VIN manufactured after after around June has it deleted……Don’t tel my sales rep but I would payGM $100 to have the system not installed or permanently disabled.
