You talked about having the engine closer to the firewall. When auto makers first started with sideways engines they were closer to the firewall, it created so much heat that it was degrading and blowing head gaskets and valve cover gaskets. So the solution is to give the engine some breathing room and not trap the heat between the engine and firewall.

Not going to lie, I do like this SUV. I like the design outside a lot more than the inside to be honest. With that being said, I would take the Lincoln Aviator even if it's a bit more expensive because that car does look very unique and expensive. The Aviator is around 80k very much loaded. I think it's worth it. I don't know what's the price for a loaded XT6 but like I said, I would pick the Aviator even if it's a bit more expensive. Nice video! Enjoyed your review. I would just add one correction about the tow capacity. The 1000 lbs. tow capacity is for the 4 cylinder engine only. The V6 that you are testing here, has a tow capacity of 4000 lbs. At least that's what I have been coming up with in my research. Just a FYI for anybody who may be turned off of this vehicle because of the towing capacity figure. 4000 lbs. is much more in line with other vehicles in this size category.

It's obvious. While I would have LOVED to get better gas mileage and pay less, that extra weight keeps rougher roads smoother (like adding weight to a pick-up). Hyundai, KIA, and Subaru don’t compete with Cadillac. So to give a more accurate perspective on “bang for the buck” you must stay closer to the actual competitors of the vehicle. You’re complaining about the mid-row seats in the XT6 lacking a ventilation function. The brand new redesigned BMW X5 doesn’t even offer ventilated seats in the front row standard. Even after a $1,400 leather seat upgrade you still don’t have ventilated *front row* seats in a BMW. So in actuality for the price Cadillac is pretty good on value without sacrificing prestige or a luxury nameplate and having to step down to a standard brand like KIA to get features for less. Great coverage anyway. Keep up the good work!
@andrewwhite1035 жыл бұрын
Yes but the Kia Telluride sx has ventilated second row seats
@mybro7275 жыл бұрын
Andrew White KIA isn’t a competitor of Cadillac or any luxury brand for that matter. For Example: the $21,000 2019 KIA Forte EX that I took a friend to pick up offers ventilated front row seats. They may not be as affective as the ventilated seats found in a Cadillac or Mercedes-Benz but hey the feature is at least offered in the KIA. But do you think that means BMW, Cadillac, and Mercedes-Benz will suddenly up the standard equipment on their entry level sedans 3-series, CT4, and A-class which starting prices are nearly double the price of the Forte’s top EX trim? No, because they aren’t interested in what the “bang for your buck” brand KIA is offering since you don’t compete where you don’t compare. It doesn’t make sense to compare Hyundai and KIA features list to that of luxury marques. If you’re looking for the best value or bang for the buck then you would have to step down in the GM portfolio and shop their premium GMC or Buick brands. Those are two totally different segments and customers (standard vehicles/luxury vehicles.

I bought a new 2020 AWD Sport. The list price was $63K. In April, 2021, $10.5K off the sticker with $1500 off with conquest $$'s. Add my $2K GMCard savings plus another $2500 GM certificate that I had. So all in, about $15K off or $48K. Still, SPENDY! If I wanted a dealer demo (service loaner), those go for $12K-$12.5K off (less my GMCard and $2500 certificate). Those have from 1500-3500 miles (the dealer buys them for less and can pass on that savings). My point is, you better get a "great" deal or expect to get massively thumped. My guess is this will cost me $5K per year for the next three years. Or about $33K in 3 years from now. If the darn car didn't look so sexy, logic would have taken over and I would have bought the fugly Toyota Highlander for under my "great deal". I am considering several of the high line Crossover / SUVs for purchase for model year 2020. I was hoping Cadillac's XT6 entry would be strong enough contender to make my short list. Disappointedly the XT6 falls short in comparison to other comparable crossovers/suvs from Audi, BMW, Volvo, Range Rover/Jaguar and domestically Lincoln's very impressive Aviator. Cadillac you need to buy each one of the competitor vehicles above sit down with your designers /engineers and commit to making the 2022 Cadillac's XT6 BETTER than any of these offerings. PLASTIC in the lower door panels, dashboard and front seatbacks of a vehicle with an MSRP in excess of $58,000 is unacceptable. If necessary please offer a full leather interior as an upgrade. Anything connected with the steering wheel and steering column should be fine contrasting stitched leather and brushed aluminum or stainless steel. Upgraded and responsive (meaning FAST) digital displays, please. If some customers want analog direct them to the XT5. It is inexplicable how you couple a cutting edge rearview mirror technology with analog Speedometer and Tachometer. Please offer a leather center armrest with seat environment controls with your second row Captian chairs. Again option/upgrade this feature if necessary. Check out how the 2020 Lincoln Aviator handles this feature Innovate, imitate or appropriate the best little touches from your competitors for Cadillac. Do not let misplaced pride or some automotive version of the "not-invented-here" bias stop you. Turbo or supercharge your engines so they produce a minimum of 375 - 400 hp. and 350 to 400+ ft. pounds of torque. If some customers complain let them "eat" the XT5 in normally aspirated configuration. No four-chambered go-kart or milk toast V6 engines in the XT6. And yes we will buy the gas. Work on a better pairing of your transmission with much higher outpt of out the roughness of your transmissions. And please please, please, apply some of your considerable Arts & Science automotive skills to creating stunning interior choices for the XT6. Black, tan or white sitting interiors are BORING and belong in GMC trucks, not headline Cadillacs. Some marketing intelligence or just commonsense Cadillac your XT6 is the "Goldilocks" of your crossover/suv portfolio; the Escalade is too big and the XT4/XT5 is too small but the XT6 is just right

The grill on these new ones sets them apart from any of the previous generations and really makes me think Cadillac when I see them. They are doing a great job with the styling imo.

Until you get inside and look at the center stack OMG. God forbid you open up the hood and you look at that six out of the Chevy Colorado that's just not right man. And the in-house 9-speed pretty craptastic transmission as well. Only decent transmission GM has is the one they co-developed with Ford and that would be the 10 speed.

@@HiPlains1 I totally agree. I am more of Ford guy myself and I despise a lot of GM'S products. I've just always found the triangular design on Cadillacs to be eye catching

GM does not know how to make luxurious interiors.

I wish they would have built it on the Traverse platform instead of the Acadia, it would just a bit bigger on the inside and it would have made a huge difference

Thought they would use the 335 hp V6 from the camero. Looks like they use the motor from the Buick Regal.

You can tell he is not a mechanic. The engine allows, with the engine a little forward, you to be able to reach and work on the engine. A great idea. Look at the ford and Lincoln. You can't get to anything the engine top is so big. Thats what I like about my chevy truck, I can put my feet beside the engine. A user friendly engine. P.S. My 2007 Silverado hasn't needed any work. All I did is at 50, 000 miles is change the transmission and clean the injectors. What he didn't tell you is you get 5 different color options for interior. I like the all black. Cadillac has always been a comfort car not a sports car. But you do have three different shift levels. So if you want it to drive like a sports car select sport. If you want to save fuel select the option. And it you want to just cruise along in comfort you have that selection. I don't think he made that easy to understand. If you want super fancy dash go and pay another 10 - 15k. The car has everything you could want. He didn't mention the adaptive suspension or adaptive cruise control and a few other option that this car had either. Some people don't want anything American made. I like to buy American and I care that everyone of my fellow Americans have a job. But thats me.

I like this, but just at a little less money. I am trading my RR in on a Telluride, or an Aviator. I would get this if it were a little less

I really wish automakers would get rid of piano black. I have a little bit on my car and it always looks dirty. Cadillac has it all over the place.

Uh, there are two rear cameras; the one up top is displayed on the rear-view mirror. The standard back-up camera is exactly where you'd expect to see it, which is just above the license plate.

I bought a 2020 Kia Telluride S model in the Dark Moss ( very dark green) Which is 23 grand less than this Cadillac and I’d still take the Telluride if the money was the same and I have a better warrantee.I do recommend the Cadillac If status quo makes you feel better about yourself.

Maybe in the future they’ll be a dash cam integrated in the front and rear cameras that you can record when activated. Good job Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

I’m sorry but I feel as through the interior of the Kia Telluride simply looks better. The tail lights even remind me of the Kia Telluride as well lol

1,500LB towing capacity? That's embarrassing, I think the RAV4 hybrid tows that much! Please Raiti double check those stats, that can't be right!🤣

1500 without the tow package. its either 4500 or 5000 with it

😒 I wonder if this was the original 2nd gen srx design for 2010 and was just regurgitated for 2020 xt6.
