It just depends on the person. I was bullied last two years of elementary and all of middle school and was physically abused all growing up by my stepdad. It’s true I never forgot nor will I ever forget but I’m 22 now it’s been about 8 years since I was last hurt. As time goes on you learn to not hold on to those grudges because if you do then the core pain will never go away.

My daughter was always quiet, from the day she was born. She wasn't bullied but never felt popular. At the end of senior year one of the stand-out popular girls signed my daughter's yearbook "to my low-key fashion inspiration." It meant so much to her because she really did make an effort to put her outfits, accessories, etc together, but she never thought anyone noticed. Sometimes a kind word can really mean alot to someone. And as a mom, it meant 10 times as much to me.

I totally get that. Good for your daughter and her great fashion sense, and it sounds like a certain conscientiousness! Kids leaving high school realize what really mattered all along were the positive connections and experiences and that they shared something, a time in life, they will never get to share again. They mature so much from start to finish. That positive comment will be with your daughter all her life. Best wishes to both girls and you, Momma.

That’s actually so wholesome. The girls at my school would never. They are those popular mean pretty ones. They don’t pick on me but they pick on one of my friends, and it’s so upsetting especially because they didn’t do anything to deserve it but they are always being bullied. Then right after they wanna act like they are good people.

@@kjm1529 your daughter may just be going through a stage, or she is narcissistic, possibly malignant, but sometimes a little hard life experience and facing adult issues, or unexpected growth experiences in a new setting will reset poor behaviour. Sometimes people get near the end of high school and the reality of facing adult responsibilities softens them towards others in the little fishbowl where they were big fish and now they will be minnows. Sometimes a well placed and good natured rebuttal comment or pulling out a chair from under them unexpectedly, or something, will make them reconsider the person they are abusing.

Always bro. Same with teachers, if a kid yelling at a teacher like that, in some cases even pushing or hitting the teacher, if the teacher goes off on them and the class or fights back, then the teacher loses their job, gets cancelled, ends up with a mugshot (again, in some tumultuous cases). Then on the internet they’ll say that kid is a hero, did nothing wrong, was very respectful, works at the soup kitchen and helps your grandma cross the street. I’m still a student in school, and I can tell you for a fact there are a lot of kids who are the biggest pieces of human filth on the planet, but when they teachers they’ve driven crazy for too long finally snap, then they’re victimized and make the teachers look evil. Now some teachers are just big assholes, but I’m just saying people always talk about how we need to help the students, but it’s not just the students who shouldn’t be treated this way. Some teachers really go through a lot dealing with badass little kids who think they can get away with anything.

Bullying alone doesn’t tempt someone to shoot up a school unless they either have pre existing mental issues. Usually it’s almost always as a result of what’s going on in the household. Dad isn’t present, mother could be verbally and physical abusive, kid could’ve gotten sexually abused in the past. I’d say for boys in particular, bullying is healthy as long as it’s not od.

Crazy thing is, "quiet kids" very rarely start out the way they are. They become like this after being cast away and turned into the object of everyone's mockery simply because they were nicer than the others initially. They were kind students, who have grown in loving families, but who turned into isolated individuals after years of bullying. They basically gave up on fitting in and are now trying to just mind their business but that doesn't make the bullies leave them alone...

Martial arts is so important for “quiet” kids. When I was in middle school I put up with the verbal bullying but as soon as a kid smacked me it was on. Thank god by 7th grade I already had 2 years of Muay Thai. The punk did not stand a chance. My son was bullied at a new school. I taught him, by example, on the person inflicting the bullying, and since the teachers nor administrators chose to do nothing to address it. The individual responsible for the abuse was made to feel shame, pain, and embarrassment after it was finished. My son learned an important lesson that day. @@TheEyeOfCthulhu Yes, bullying is not okay, and that person (the bully) should really get taught not to do that. Yet again, they are kids, they copy what they see from adults. These kids should be taught first and foremost, before saying that they should “rot in the deepest depths”. They are stubborn and risky, yes, but that can be helped by teaching. Teach kids that it’s okay to be different, and that they should help each other up instead of pushing others down. Also, this is in no way Negative, I’m just explaining my feelings on the matter.

I used to get bullied a lot growing up and was a very quiet and reserved kid. One day a kid that actually knew my family joined in and started saying things about my mother, all I can remember was that it felt like a knee jerk reaction when I turned around and just slammed the tip of my pencil into the web of his hand as hard as I could. In high school after my grandfather passed away I was looking at a photo of him and this kid who’d relentlessly bullied me for the 3 years I’d been there started talking shit again… I told him “you need to shut the fuck up” he said “tell me that again see what happens” I did…bro slapped me…first of all ( lol ) well, he fucked around and found out mind you I’m not small, 6’3” and kind of broad, well I whooped his ass in front of everyone, I actually busted up his face pretty bad, like…missing teeth, broken nose, well I ended up not getting in trouble and when I had to go to court it was counted as self defense since one of his dumbass friends videoed the slap and whole fight afterwards, I actually saw his truck at sonic 2 months later, drove up close to it, it was empty so I guess he was with his friends or something, well I took a knife and went down the entire side of his truck in multiple lines on either side and his hood…mf deserved that shit, it was a long time coming tbh…I feel bad for beating his ass but damn….I mean, the school wasn’t doing anything about it….what was I supposed to do

Not particularly. Yes, walking away from some harmless bullshit convo is the most simple thing you can do, but if it's some bullying where they literally won't stop making you'r life a living hell, walking away is not quite the option. I was the quiet kid for the most time of my middle school, and there were mostly 4 assholes bullying me. It didn't stop until finally one day when 3 of them walked up to me to do the unknown, i took one of the guys hair, and did an uppercut on the chin. Then when the other dude walked up to me, i just lost my full mindset. I was basically in a deathmatch in my vision. *(i forgot to mention that this was in a classroom that was about to start)* So, when the other asshole walked up to me, the only possible thing i could do is take a pen from my table, and guess what. Stab him. Yes, stab him. I stabbed him i'm guessing above to the heart? it was a long time ago, i may be wrong. I didn't stab him deeply, it was probably like a few milimeters in his body. And ofcourse, the good things all come to an end with the teacher being a hero to the dipshits. I didn't get a punishment, however i did have to apologise to all 3 of the fuckers that were there. And also, as a punishment for the bullies, they had to read ALL of the school rules after school. The best part is that the school had approximately 80+ rules. They probably sat there for around an hour. It's not much, but THANK GOD the bullying finally stopped. However, the 4th bully didn't get any punishment since he wasn't on that exact day. But ofcourse, the bullying stopped.
