Sir 6:32 the value of machine is 50,000 but u have taken 5,000 and instead of depreciation value of 25000 its 2500 .... Pls clear this doubt

The cost of machine (ii) is 50,000 with a dep of 10% p.a when you calculate it the dep will be 5000 but as the machine is purchased in the mid of the year which is a period of six months and previously the dep was calculated with the time period being 12 months so we'll just divide the dep by 2 to get the dep for 6 months. Hope you understand

if sir there is nothing given like working years and percentage of depreciation what should we do. i give you a example [ On 1st April, 2014, A Ltd. purchased a machine for Rs. 2,40,000 and spent Rs. 10,000 on its erection, On lst October,2014 an additional machinery costing Rs. 1,00,000 was purchased. On lst October, 2016, the machine purchased on 1't April, 2014 was sold for Rs. 1,43,000 and on the same date, anew machine was purchased at a cost of Rs. 2,00,000. Solve the above problem using straight line depreciation method ]
