This Earth Day it's e-tron vs e-train! Shapur Kotwal and Ruman Devmane are in two very different types of electric vehicles as they journey from Nashik to Mumbai. Shapur is behind the wheel of the 408hp Audi e-tron while Ruman is passenger in the Rajdhani Express whose dual electric locos make 12,000hp! Question is, which EV's quicker?

Yes siddesh the rajdhani is capable of 160kmph but due to track limitations it was going max 110

I would declare EV as the future, if that electricity came straight from the sun and not coal. Even nuclear is ok for carbon emissions. But those WAP7s are beasts!

Even if the electricity came from fossil fuel sources, running an EV would be more energy efficient and on a net scale it would still emit lesser carbon in comparison to the same journey undertaken by an ICE vehicle

The Rajdhani s avg speed betw Nashik to Mumbai is just 60km/h due to the Tracks condition while it's Total Journey avg speed is 86km/h. So technically if there's a race from start to end the EV don't stand up against the Rajdhani 👏

I once travelled through Rajdhani express from New Delhi to Ahmedabad in 2020 and that was the fastest Speed i experienced that train was like I'm unstoppable I love it would love to do again sometime

WAP7 can reach to max. 220 kmph, but it can't operate on our tracks beyond 140 kmph because of safety reasons.

With the current mode of power generation in the country which is around 70% dependency on fossil fuels, the EVs are more like a modern form of External combustion engine. Electric trains are more environment friendly as it is a Mass transport compared to the Electric cars.
