What's with "I'm a big feminist". Working in industry where these things are unfortunately normalized or the women and issues faced in film industry wasn't meant to be taken seriously, let alone for them to address this issue legally and get action done in courts. In that case its not rocket science to be oblivious of sajid's conduct and character at work. Many people even audience know from movies itself Sajid's lack of respect. Then came the awards show where ashutosh gowariker called him out, then actress who worked with him who recalled his behavior. Bipasha basu didn't promote her last film she did for sajid due to what happened on sets. It would be helpful if she complained to the producers or whoever about his inappropriate behavior but she made it clear she won't work with him in her own way to protect herself. With all of this how can Kriti or anyone in that film react to this issue by saying we don't know, is it rumors, etc... forget about feminism and standing up for women its lack of clarity and common sense that these actors have.

Depressing. I was not directly or indirectly involved. My parents and my relative (R) were. R’s wife (W) is a very volatile character and R’s father did not leave any property for her. She came to know about this one day and got her brothers, who bullied R while I, my mother and my sister were in an adjacent room. Heard horrible things that night. She was assured that she could still live with R and enjoy everything but W’s true colors showed as she was after the property all along. She then started threatening suicide. R consulted lawyers who advised him to remove anything that is of value (They were living in the first floor of the house). They also warned us to move out of the house immediately as an arrest was imminent. So, there I was. A boy who was about to enter college, who was attending French classes in the summer and enjoying life until that point was forced to go on the run because there was a chance that his career would be over before it even began. We went out of the grid. Pretty soon after we were in a lodge. R’s lawyer informed us that W had filed a slew of charges including DV (Domestic Violence) and 498a against R, R’ mother, my mother and father (who had nothing to do with this). My sister who was in college that time had to stay at a friend’s place for the time being (till they got Anticipatory Bail). The bail took two weeks. They left me at another relative’s place while they went and stayed God knows where. Sadly, this is what you have to do. I joined college but could not stay at R’s place. Even R could not stay at his place because W was still in the first floor. There was nothing we could do. She made sure that for the time she was there, she would torture us. W went to R’s place of work and shouted insults about him. My mother’s arthritis accelerated because she had to cook food for the entire family and bring food for us (I, my sister and R) whilst attending to the demands of the case. R had to quit his job. He sometimes used to take his frustrations out on us. Relatives stopped coming to our home. People stopped calling us. We also had to change lawyers because they turned hostile and advised us to settle. Sometimes, I typed rejoinders for R as he dictated. I read vile allegations that were made by W. Use your imagination. They used to discuss cases while I studied. The result was that I became depressed as I had no clue how to deal with these feelings . I did not know this was depression at the time and thought it was just me. I lost interest in life. Used to have existential crisis wherein I told myself I was nothing but a burden. My academic performance, if you can call it that, tanked. Luckily had only no arrears but only scored borderline marks in most papers. Used to fail in the mid-term exams. Did not participate in any extra-curricular. To forget all that was going on, I started watching a lot of movies and playing games. Lost my focus and concentration. Fast-forward 6 years. R is now a member of the bar council and has successfully evicted W from the premises. The cases are still going on I don’t know which ones. But things are looking up. I got a decent paying job in a startup. But one thing that has not gone is the emotional scarring. Our view of marriage is forever changed. I see no future where I am married. I am still struggling to recover from the psychological effects and still suffer from bouts of depression. My focus and concentration are still lacking. I am not able to achieve what I want to do. I understand that a lot of people have had worse. Getting arrested is a very nasty thing, because it will show up in background checks. None of that happened to us. I just wanted to show that there is a lot of collateral damage.
