About 4 years back, I was at a restaurant with my family enjoying dinner. After the dinner was done, while leaving, we met Ranbir Kapoor at the door. He was just entering the restaurant. My sister recognised him and took his name which turned his head towards us. My father appreciated his acting skills and said he was a fan of his work. Ranbir stood patiently at the door smiling and replying to our questions. I could not believe that he was giving us a mini interview. Such a big star. Just after 2-3 minutes of interaction about him, his father's movies and about the restaurant, he said Jai Shree Krishna to us and wished us well. We responded. I was just taken aback by the guy's down to earth nature.

My friend’s sister was returning from New York with her year old son. It was a direct flight and a long and tedious one at that, plus with a crying baby, she was hassled by the time they landed in Mumbai. At the baggage conveyor, people were jostling and she was finding it extremely hard to handle a toddler and look for her bag when she felt a tap on her shoulder. A young man had brought her a trolley and asked her if she could spot her bag on the conveyor, he’d unload it and put it on the trolley for her. After doing that for her, she realised that that young man was Ranbir Kapoor. She asked him for a picture, he happily obliged by holding her baby in his arm and putting the other arm around her. What a man, RK!

Ranbir is an amazing actor and works extremely hard for his role and this is visible if you see his movies. Yes, he got into the industry from nepotism, but you can't deny that he is pure talent. He isn't like the other star kids who stay in the industry despite their lack of talent. He's in this industry because he knows how to act and is one of the greatest actor of our generation.

Everyone is after his past relationships bcz he doesn’t have any other flaws. And those stupids don't even realise other actors are always in open relationships, one night stands, extra marital affairs etc. Ranbir was in commited relationships, those didn’t just work out. I loved listening to Ranbir. He comes across as someone who thinks first, and then acts, I love that. Social media is so overrated, noisy and grossly misused, and he's absolutely right, that he gets to show his authenticity through his performance - and even his interviews such as this - so why stretch that onto another platform. I think social media takes away the allure and interest from an actor/actress, especially when you know too much about them. I also felt that he is spot on when he talked about the evolution of Indian cinema and the genres in which it works in. OTT, cinema and TV gives directors and producers the room to explore different types of genres and create an experience for each platform. It has to be a combination of content + experience. I'd love for the musical genre to be reserved for the big screen. I've grown up watching Indian cinema, the dance and music is an immersive experience and best had on a cinema screen. I hope Indian music and dance makes a comeback, I'm tired of the overtly Westernised dance sequences and style of music. I think this is an interesting time for Indian cinema, so it's exciting to see what happens and which direction filmmakers explore next.
@GSS777123 жыл бұрын
One thing that he's successfully managed is keeping the mystique of stardom alive. Whether it's being absent on social media, rarely making appearances in front of the electronic media, or being evasive in general in the public eye. Which is no mean feat in a time when stars have made themselves so accessible to the public with a 24*7 social media presence and PR overkills. To not hog the limelight constantly and still keep yourself so relevant and interesting is really nothing short of great. In a way his style of stardom is anachronistic. It belongs to the golden era of Hindi cinema, the 50s, 60s and 70s to be precise.

I think even if he doesn't talk about it, the audience will jeer him. Some people come and change the scenario unnecessarily overnight. Most comments address Kapoor Jr as a deserving nepo kid. Gone are days when we used to look at him as the worthy successor of his star family. While star kids always had a following, it was those that knew to win the masses that made it. It's the same thing even today but the current generation is so brainwashed that they cannot have a conversation without nepotism and poor SSR's death. Why don't these people go and act or carry out the investigation themselves?
