Expensive tools don't make up for lack of skill! I bet without reading any post...that someone is going to throw out how it won't last long!! Comparing his materials to what we use in the States! This guy would put a lot fools out of business!! ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!

I'm your huckleberry. It's like putting lipstick on a pig. It won't last long. I guarantee one winter where I'm at it'll be cracked. There's 2 types of concrete, 1 that's cracked & one that's gonna crack. Skill has nothing to do with it how long it's going to last. I will agree he is skilled & no doubt puts 99.0% contractors to shame in the states.

In the good old days many houses had cement flooring made with added red oxide pigment coating and scored with fine grooves to make them look like 8 inch tiles, minimise chances of cracking. Finished labourisly by buffing it to a high finish just before setting, with the impliment shown here! That looked grand, but the only problem was with outdoor steps or semi exposed stair wells, when it rained! The edges of the stairs were rounded off and one could easily slip down! Some out door steps surfaces were divided into small squares or suitable shapes to break the continuity of smoothness.

the beginning GOD made man in his image who we know is Adam. When Adam and Eve sinned sin entered into the world. Sin equals death. God required a blood atonement because if you take a life then life is required at your hands. Since we are all sinners and sin is death we all would need a blood atonement for our sins. Jesus Christ is one of the 3 manifestations of God. The word who came into the world as flesh. He came as the sacraficial lamb to make a permanent atonement for all of your sins. Without him you can not take away your sins and so this is why we need Jesus. He is the perfect man and sinless. God's only begotten son. His blood is perfect and can take away all of our sins. blood will be required at the end of your life because of your sins and if you do not have an atonement for your sins (who can only be jesus since his blood is the only requirement) you will go to hell forever

I bet the edges get smashed up fast. The bonding agent? A cement based product....he never keyed up or prepared the surface he was working on, to promote adhesion. The top tread...why plaster it? He has created a lip on the inside now, that has to be addressed. Looks ok, but I don't rate the process.

I guess the order of products are: 1- a bonding agent 2- a sand topping mix 3- a resurfacing/sealer mix I've repaired steps before, but I've never used all 3 of these things at one time. It's hard when they have been painted and you're only trying to fix the bad spots. I usually do a pre clean with muriatic acid. Get a better bond.

Sorry but new cement based coatings by themselves do not stick to old cement. As it quickly ages it will spall off and regain the appearance that it had before this work. There are proven methods for “permanently” restoring concrete surfaces. They all involve extensive preparation to the existing surfaces using pressure washing, chemical stripping and mechanical chipping and grinding. Then products that are specifically formulated by chemical experts are applied before any cement based coating is applied. And that cement mixture also receives admixtures of various bonding agents. All if this comes at a cost sometimes making it more feasible to remove the concrete entirely and remake the item; in this case a simple stair. I am an expert in the science if concrete and its many uses. This is the truth.

took this guy what an hour to do this and maybe 20 bucks in concrete, it'll still last a good 5 years if not more depending on the climate then he just has to do it again, I see no issue.

@@Tysonography you don’t own the stair. How would you feel when it all flakes off in less time than you have assumed. And when an owner sues you because your “fix” didn’t last, i guarantee that you will try harder the next time.

That was my first thought too. He has done a really nice job, it's smooth and even and looks great, but it would probably be quite slippery when wet because of the polished-look of the finish. I think a hand rail would be a definite must.

@@grandy2875 you brother American you worry too much. Not enough freedom in the land of the free. In Third World we dont sue each other if we fall. We watch our step and we are to blame if we fall. Relaxed this way. We worry about food and clothes.

What materials he used? Looks like a powder not a patch. How long dos that material last? I don't think we can apply this type of cement in cold weather countries.
