Today I have successfully repaired my Vu 55 inch 4k TV in this way (taping method), though a bit different way - I have used a railway recket of a thin thermal paper (tested this way and finally retained it) instead of tape. It was out of order for few months. Yesterday I opened the TV and to sort out the problem, I watched this video yesterday and today the related video on gate lines short. I am a hobbyist, and not a professional technician. Thanks to this channel (Raj Technical Institute).

While I was on business travel, my 43" 4K Hisense TV at home started showing vertical lines. I logged a complain with Hisense support. The service engineer visited after 2 days and told my family that Panel needs to be changed and will cost 14K or so. Interestingly whenever the TV is switched on, it would show Hisense Logo correctly then it starts showing vertical lines. This made me wonder if Panel is really bad. Returned to home a couple of days back. Started looking for possible fixes on KZbin before visiting a local mechanic. Came across this video. Opened the TV (first time I ever did) and of the two cables, identified issue with one. Tried taping and on 3rd attempt it worked! Took me just 15 minutes to fix my TV. Thanks for the informative video 👍

This system can be effective and work but you have to see the long term effects on the display if it lasts over time!, also a wrong connection of the tape on the T-Con board could destroy the Cheap Cofs by burning them.
