It is a bit dishonest to try and discredit the open letter by claiming Elon Musk wants to catch up in AI since Musk didn't write the letter and only signed it. Also Musk was talking about the risks of AI long before ChatGPT was released. The letter was written by Max Tegemark and the other pure researchers.

Very good discussion...And it's true that now looking back as TIGER is out and let's see if it maintains JUNGLE diversity or kill all other animals...Claude Shannon, often called father of information technology, was once asked a question " Can machines think?" His reply was "Sur". When asked to clarify, he said, "I think, don't I". In other words, it was obvious to him that machines can think because HUMANS ARE MACHINES...🙂

Any technology will take time to develop, regulation at the very begining will cull it's growth, hence it shall only come in once the tech has taken off and then there are some cases of it being put to wrong use.
