एलटीटीई यानि लिबरेशन टाइगर्स ऑफ तमिल ईलम करीब तीन दशकों तक अपने आतंक और हमलों से श्रीलंका को दहलाता रहा है। अपनी अलग राज्य की मांग को पूरा करने के लिए इस संगठन ने न केवल सबसे पहले आत्मघाती दस्ते की शुरुआत की बल्कि हजारों निर्दोष लोगों के साथ ही कई राजनीतिक हस्तियों को भी मौत के घाट उतार दिया। एक दौर मे लिट्टे का उत्तरी श्रीलंका पर पूरा नियंत्रण था और वहां उसकी समानांतर सरकार चलती थी। लेकिन लिट्टे समर्थक और अलग ईलम राज्य को चाहने वाले आज भी दुनिया भर में फैले हुए हैं जो अभी भी लिट्टे समर्थकों की मदद करते हैं।भारत सरकार ने भी माना है कि लिट्टे का प्रभाव भारत में भी है और उसके समर्थक भारत में गैरकानूनी गतिविधियों में लिप्त हैं जो भारतीय नागरिकों की सुरक्षा और भारत की संप्रभुता के लिए खतरा है। इसे देखते हुए भारत ने लिट्टे पर प्रतिबंध की अवधि पांच साल के लिए और बढ़ा दी है। आज विशेष के इस अंक में बात करेंगे लिट्टे पर प्रतिबंध की, जानेंगे क्या है इसका इतिहास और कौन- कौन सी बड़ी घटनाओं को इस संगठन ने दिया अंजाम..

LTTE का रास्ता गलत था लेकिन मंजिल अपना हक और अधिकार लेना था । हमें इस आंदोलन की जड़ को समझना होगा कि श्रीलंकाई तमिलों ने बंदूक का रास्ता क्यों अपनाया । औपनिवेशिक शासन के समय अंग्रेजों द्वारा भारतीय तमिल मजदूरों को श्रीलंका में बसाया तथा खेती , बेगारी , मजदूरी में अपने शासन के अंतिम समय तक लगाए रखा। आजाद श्रीलंका में भी जब भारतीय तमिलों को अपना हक नहीं मिला, सरकारी नौकरियों से बेदखली, संसाधनों से वंचित रखा गया तो ये तमिलों के प्रति शोषण श्रीलंका सरकार के खिलाफ उग्र आंदोलन में बदल गया । अलग देश की मांग अधिकारों के संरक्षण के लिए थी क्योंकि देश के नागरिक होने के बाद भी भारतीय तमिलों को सिंहली शोषण सहन करना पड़ रहा था । भारतीय शान्ति सेना का श्रीलंका में LTTE को खत्म करने के ऑपरेशन का परिणाम भारतीय तमिलों में भारतीय सेना के खिलाफ रोष और राजीव गांधी की हत्या के रूप में मिला ।

Let's look at some figures..over 30 years of war around 35 000 LTTE died, but the LTTE killed over 40 000 Sri Lankan forces. During the same period over 200 000 Tamils died while the casualties of the sinhalese were 5000 - 7000, most of them due to collateral damages. The figures alone can tell about the LTTE and the SL forces, LTTE target was the forces, not innocent people.

I don't understand this language. But I have to tell this. The people who aren't living in Sri Lanka talk about the human rights violation of Sri Lankan Tamil people. But the truth is that the LTTE used their own Tamil people against the Sri Lankan army to achieve the personal interests of the Velupillai Prabhakaran(LTTE Leader). At the period of LTTE controlling the Northside of Sri Lanka, they did not allow to Tamil children to study but Velupillai Prabhakaran sent his children to study in European countries. At that time Tamil children learnt to use the weapons(T56) instead of use books. But if someone comes to the North Side of Sri Lanka, they will see the development and prosperous of Tamil people and how they carry on their day to day lives and how they feel their freedom. Most especially Tamil children can learn. There is no fear to move and learn.
