My dad was a angami naga.. But i never got to know about his culture and family as he moved out from his family at young age.. N came to arunachal here he met my mom.. N got married and had us. He promised me that he will take me to kohima, his native place.. But he died when I was 9..so never got the change to know him very well.... So in his memory I named myself angamm.. Short of angami... His last name... As my siblings n i use mom's last name..

The word "tribalism" is abusive. I don't know where people get this word from. Rather than doing any good, its use proves to be only counter productive and it leaves a negative connotation for people recognised as tribes. Tribalism and tribes are not at all related as people use them. What you call tribalism is the result of linguistic difference. Naga isn't a tribe or a linguistic group, it's a nation various linguistic groups of different language clusters. What we call a tribe is actually a langauge group or people speaking a unique language. There are as many as 66 languages entirely in the Naga nation. So, definitely strong affiliations towards one's respective language group is bound to happen. So this confusion shouldn't be called tribalism. Of course such misunderstandings or partiality has to be resolved but the use of the derogatory term "tribalism" won't help it.
