Defined by the dictionary as an adjective “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief”

debate got shifted from its title spirit .... discussion was got emotive in nature. also post-truth is not only related with political setup.. it is related to societal ideologies also. and this debate do not deal with that aspect.

this concept is more created and discussed which is not supposed to be. 1) if in 2014 modi won it was not only due to fake promises and social media, it was because of failure of congress in 10 years, s saying only post-truth was responsible is not valid. 2) if post-truth is so prevalent then why Italy lost referrundum even when Its Prime Minister too tried to create future visionary state and failed. So only believing on intentionally framed word post-truth is illogic. Even this word do not deserve dabate when taken in detail.

post truth concept can not be applied to indian elections of 2014 because 1)the policy paralysis of UPA2 was evident to masses and congress showed no enthusiasm to tackle it during their time or even in their promotion of election. 2)people wanted change so voted going beyond the equations of caste,religion etc. 3)BJP seized the opportunity by providing a leader who people thought could lead better than congress' pm candidate. 4)BJP and religional parties would have won anyway but BJP's campaign based on social media and carisma of narendra modi (hindutva also played some part) increased their seat against the regional parties especially in north india. Simply saying that 2014 election was based on post truth undermines the GREAT FAILURE OF CONGRESS to run the country and to provide ABLE LEADERSHIP and also the ability of narendra modi to lead the country.
