Drewbe _ I also got Zegana, utopian speaker. It would work great with standard merfolk for my deck when the other merfolk and Simic cards are released but I am thinking more commander maybe +1/1 counters, merfolk commander or maybe a voltron stragety. Judith and rakados are interesting commanders along with tesya. Lavina is a challenge and nix of the old ways is more of a creature heavy deck which is something I would like to ry

I played my first games today with this deck, and oh boy - Rakdos was hilariously fun for everybody on the table. My destroy rate was like 80%. Fucking golden. We even chose another method besides a coin because nobody of us believed how often I succeeded. Then we used a D6 and said even = dead and even then (haha, get it?!) everything still died. We played 4 games and Rakdos was always the best card, followed by Torch Fiend - I even got Stripmined off of red mana on T3 + Sword to Plowshares on it because they wanted to keep their mana rocks :D In the end I only won 1 out of the 4 games, but my friends had wayyy more expensive/stronger decks (one Breya deck with dual lands, other one with an Animar deck with different infinite combos). My main deck is a competitive Prossh list, so this deck is completely different in power - but I was overwhelmed by how good Rakdos, the Showstopper is. I can just repeat myself: The deck is hilariously fun to play. I'll get a Krarks Thump ASAP :D

I would like to bring to your attention the card of mirror March. It is an enchantment that is 5 and red that states that when a nontoken creature enters the battlefield, flip a coin until you lose a flip. For every won toss, create a token of that creature and it gains haste until end of turn. Sacrifice the tokens at the beginning of the next end step. This card is useful when any creature enters the battlefield, but really affects Rakdos as it does mean that the ETB effect will go through for every copy, even though they don't stay on the field

@@TheCommandersQuarters If I may also drop another suggestion, perhaps do a Deck Tech on Obzedat? Everyone mentions the original Ghost Council, but Obzedat is arguably stronger due to the 5/5 body, can be blinked at your end step for free, and return with Haste, all while pinging for 2, and giving you 2 life. The only downside is the extra 1 mana you have to pay, which is minimal.

Hey Commander's Quarters. I'd like to say my EDH group and myself love your videos and talk about them every week when we meet up to play. I do have a request though. Could you possibly do an episode one time where instead of showing us a deck you show us how you order all the cards and how you work the TCG Player optimizer to get these decks built so cheap? Like how many times for example do you remove and manually add cards and re-run the optimizer or are you able to get it this low on the first run? I'm not saying for every video, but maybe just one time as a special episode or something? Thank you.

For some extra value outside of demons, devils, and imps, use indestructible effects like Darksteel Plate for those creatures you don't want Rakdos destroying.

seeing the win cons in this deck made me think of earlier today one of the guys who I play with went on a rant about how Win Con cards "ruin the spirit of the game" while I was talking about my bant Tuvasa Enchantress deck which I added my Simic Ascendancy to because of it's effect and it boosts Tuvasa since it's an enchantment. So many people want to see Simic Ascendancy banned I don't see why since there are ways to get rid of it. especially in Commander. (that is unless it is played in a deck with Sterling Grove).

Mirrored March with Krark's Thumb on the field. You get to flip two times when he enters. If you call it right, you get to flip another two times. You keep flipping two times, keep making token copies until you call it wrong. Then you get to flip two times for each enemy creature that doesn't match the types, for Rakdos, and each token copy. It will be a pain to resolve. It will be glorious. If you go this route, prepare to lose some friends/make some enemies or prepare to never play this combo again.

Panharmonicon is probably another good reasonable upgrade. Anything that survives the first wave has to immediately deal with a second Rakdos trigger. Unrelated, am I the only one who is hugely disappointed that Rakdos 3 didn't have a Spectacle cost or something that triggers on the same condition as Spectacle?

I JUST SERIOUSLY BUILT A SIMILAR DECK!!! but i gotta say, you put Liliana's contract and Revel in riches in, but didn't include Chance Encounter in the reasonable upgrades? with all of those coin flips? Krark's thumb? play Abhorrent Overlord on your turn with Voyager Staff, Rakdos, Krark's thumb and Chance Encounter out, (giving you a bare minimum of devotion 3) and before the end step of the player before you, sac staff targeting Rakdos, he blinks back in at the endstep, you flip at least 6 coins then and there, boom your upkeep, you should by all means have 10 luck counters. just to use one example of self-controlled alt win con.

Cool deck, but I have one minor gripe. Hazoret's monument causes you to rummage, not loot. There's a difference and it's very important I swear.
