Dream Devourer is good in pretty much every black deck, I put it in Lord of Riots so I can dump out a ton of creatures and not have to worry about my hand getting too full or nuked by discard.

If you want infinite red mana : Rift Elemental + Rousing Refrain (if a player has 7 cards in his hand) Or infinite treasures if prosper is on the battlefield with only 6 cards. And the best and very budget card for this deck : Uba Mask . "If a player would draw a card, that player exiles that card face up instead. Each player may play cards they exiled with Uba Mask this turn. " So good for you and so good againt those players who think they can just draw cards forever. :P

The cool thing about Prosper tome-bound is that it has so much synergy with many different types of mechanics (suspend, rebound, cascade, foretell, etc.). I already have about 40 cards in my deck box and at least 50% have synergy and I will look forward to put in as many of them as possible.

I would call it the "BBEG" deck. Big Bad Evil Guy. The BBEG always has an evil plot he is trying to execute. The classic BBEG is always too eager to reveal their schemes before executing them. Just like this deck. Everyone is going to see the exiled cards coming and likely work to stop it. You'll also be goading everyone to attack eachother and such.

I love hellish rebuke, not only is it one of the most fun spite plays, it effects all permanents that would deal damage to you, like say purphoros, tims, aristocrats, blasting station type effects. It's a bit more broad then it's made out to be here but it's still very meta dependent and does nothing for things that just kill you outright like aetherflux.

A great include for some more damage could be Nadier’s Nightblade. With all those treasure tokens, especially if you cast your Glimpse Of Tomorrow with them on the field it could do some decent damage. On the other side of the coin Reckless Fireweaver could also be in there to deal the damage when the treasures come into play as well.

Jake is 100% right. tapped 2 mana colorless mana rock, when your commander generates to much more free mana rocks :D Also, I'd add Rage of Haze to the deck over Jeska's Will. It storm comboes with Storm-Kiln Artist. When you have 3 combo counter and you cast Haze and pay the buyback, you will get 4 treasures from the Artist. Infinite artifact ETB and Infinite any colored mana.

I really appreciated the way you guys mentioned Oracle Vault being a kind of cheap sub-in card that you'll want to take out as the deck gets more and more tuned. I think it would be pretty nice if the future precon upgrade guides had a section of the new cards added in to be labelled as "stop-gap cards" or something, for the cards that can work well with the deck but there are bound to be better options out there for.

You guys keep mentioning that goad is better against creature decks, but goad is great against noncreature decks. Disrupt Decorum straight up murders your opponent that has no creatures to block...

Goad isn't great against decks that have plenty of non combat damage win cons. They still have creatures on board most of the time, but preventing them from attacking you just won't be doing as much.

Just to be clear, at 29 min when talking about pontiff of blight, you CANNOT extort one spell multiple times. Only once per extort trigger. If you have a bunch of creatures, then you'd get extort triggers and an opportunity to pay the black equal to the number of creatures you control and thus drain multiple times.

I've been sitting on this deck for a while, and actually upgraded it myself last night. Just saw the vid, and I'm on team ebony fly. That purse had to go. I'm more with Xorn and Chandra than ramping up the exile effects. I want one or two cards a turn, beyond that I'm likely blowing cards I'd rather play or have in my hand, and unlike a graveyard effect, I'm not getting them back from exile.

You guys are all crazy. If you don’t like cards that say: win the game, I can’t argue with that. I think it’s cool because you have to earn it; having 10 treasures is no small feat, plus it’s very unique. Also, it’s not ONLY in the deck for the wincon. It generates its own treasure tokens. Sure it’s an upkeep wincon, but if people remove it, that’s fine. You’ve gotten value presumably by threatening a wincon and having it generate treasures. (Dies to removal is never an argument against a card) It is literally the prefect card for this deck lol

This deck is fucking SWEET. As a 15 year vet of the game, commander players since 2010 ish and primarily blue player this deck is a REFRESHING take on exactly what was stated at the end of the episode. Draw and ramp on a different axis. Not knowing what you'll flip off the top of anyones deck is enough variance to be interesting, but enough core commander ramp/draw to not feel like I'm playing a lower power deck because I'm not in green or blue. Non repetitive gameplay mixed with enough power to compete in average commander games has me overjoyed to be exploring outside blue and could not recommend the precon any higher. Fifty bucks gets you a legit deck on upgrades and a little more greasing of the wheels makes a complete deck that you'll enjoy close to indefinitely if you lean in to playing stuff from opponents.

The main problem with Jeska's Will is that it only lets you play the exiled cards until the end of the *current* turn. Try "Light Up the Stage" instead. Same CMC (but can Spectacle for one red), only exiles two cards so you don't have to worry about over-drawing, and gives you until the end of your *next* turn to play them. And it goes for $0.25. And if you really need the extra mana, "Rousing Refrain" does the same thing as JW's other abillity, can Suspend (meaning another card played from exile), and Suspends itself on resolution (meaning it recurs every three turns, thus giving you *even more* Treasures).

Sol talisman could be good for this deck too. Suspend 3 does hurt ramp a lot but it’s basically free since you get a treasure from it

If sol talisman gets exiled you won't be able to suspend it. It can only be used from your hand. For that reason I wouldn't add it to the deck. In my test games I am exiling 2 or 3 cards for every card that I draw, it is going to be a dead card more often then not

I'm putting Isochron Scepter in. It's a very fair deck to put it in, and there's enough 2 mana spells out there to make it worth it. I'm putting Reverberate and Dual Strike in, as well as Plumb the Forbidden, to add to what's there already. Chandra, Fire Artisan finally has a home as well.

When Jake mentioned the gap between a six-mana vs. a seven-mana commander, I immediately thought that his “intangible threshold” so to speak, is higher than my own. Personally, I get a bit dissuaded when I see that a commander is six mana, whereas I am fine with a five-drop in a lot of cases. The biggest example I have here is Tatyova vs. Aesi. While many would think Aesi is the superior commander, I am much more likely to jam a t3 Tatyova with land drops to spare (or none to spare even) than a t3 Aesi, and that makes the entire deck flow much smoother. It’s much easier to go 1-2-4-5, 1-3-5, 1-4-5, or the like than it is to go 1-4-6, etc.

Vandalblast has some weird flavor with the beholder commander. the lavor text "beauty is in the eye of the exploder" the rat package is also a DND reference (to me). It recommended for Fiend warlocks to convince their DMs to give them a magic item called "Bag of Angry Rats" to make activating a passive they have easier.

Late to the game but food for thought... with Wild-Magic Sorcerer the first spell you cast from exile has cascade, so if you cast a MV1 spell you could get one of the many MV0 suspend cards like Mox Tantalite, Sol Talisman, and the like... (or even the new black tutor that's MV0)

Interesting thing about Danse Macabre, it needs to be a non token creature. So if you can play that after casting the new Reckless Endeavor, you can basically limit your opponents options on what to sacrifice. Still not the best, but I'm definitely gonna have fun with it

I haven't played commander so it might not have the same effect, but when playing in Arena with treasures and in black, Marionette Master is the most fun. Lost count of how many wins I've got by sacking treasures to that card when I was about to loose

Kind of surprised Kalain or Revel in Riches didn't make the upgrade. Getting extra value off the treasure tokens would be great. Jake was definitely right to cut the fly though.

Hellish Rebuke is spicy for go wide punishment and for indestructibles! I just include some incidental life gain like whip of erebos, shadowspear, pontiff making them often need two big attacks to kill me and shadowspear helps a lot vs hexproof on voltron commanders.

With Dream Devourer from Kaldheim you can foretell every card...and foretell cards are also played from Exile like suspend. So Dreams Devourer basically lets you trigger Prosper with every card in der your hand and it's a very cheap card too.

So as someone who is currently rebrewing prosper and if budget isn't a issue o personally( i already own all these) these 3 are phenomenal. Chandra, torch of defiance Chandra, fire artisan Chandra, dressed to kill So you may be thinking these are frail planes walkers who don't really protect well. But here's were your wrong these Chandra all essentially do the same thing, for a + they all exil a card for you... And 2 of these also can ramp you if you don't need them to Exile. With the amount of interaction you have and the fact ur comander has deathtouch means these walkers are relatively safe cause when you have a murder type spell face up people don't wanna make you angry, and with a bunch of called fortell cards facedown people aren't gonna go for Chandras unless ur about to ult so with torch use the -3 frequently if she'd survive and ppl won't be as scared.
