I agree with most of the video, some grades would be lower because lore > draft/pack opening to me however... It is just a game, but I'm not sure if I still love the core of it... Right now I care about cEDH (proxy-friendly, I do have some stuff, but a limited cardpool translates into less UB and less cards overall) and I want to look more into premodern or old-school... And I'm not coming out of a place of hate for the game. I'm just tired of crazy frames, walls of text and UB. I did throw a tantrum in MKM/OTJ, then I just stopped caring/following spoilers/reading card. I really like bloomburrow, but I bought a lot of it without reading the cards. Then I just stopped caring. I just pick up the occasional card that pops up on cEDH decks.

Aftermath was such a fumble it would if made more sense for elsph we to slay the preators one bye one with only big moma left then they fight after aka the Aftermath could of been goodbif it wasn't so rushed and more though was put into it best set for gameplay like draft ect for me was bloomburrow best value mh3 best commander cards was from ub sets 💯 😅

I LOVE COMMAND ZONE! I LOVE THE CONTENT AND I ADORE THE CAST!!! BUT…. Card Kingdom is the absolute worst place to buy cards on the planet. Not only you will pay 20%-40% higher for every card, the one continent package and shipping costs will not close the gap and save you money at all even if you pay the shipping cost 20 separate times from TCG. Also their CS is absolutely miserable. I have contacted them several times on several different issues and 90% of the time they ignore me completely. And lastly their buy program is horrible. I sent them a grip of cards that were all pack fresh to sleeves and or binders and never played even once and they downgraded every card to lightly played or moderately played so that they didn’t have to pay me as much. All the cards were beyond near mint. I did some research and almost every single experience I read about was identical to mine. I understand as a sponsor they have to praise these guys legally, but so am telling you Card Kingdom is an absolute joke, do your research and you will find that most people have the same experience as me and just do the math comparison every time you want to buy a single or singles and you will immediately see they are over charging an astronomical amount compared to TCG and frankly anywhere else online.

Duskmourn was a huge flavor L for me, when i first looked at some of the spoilers i expected it to be in the same world as bloomburrow and turn the story spooky and dark fairy tale which was such an exciting idea! Then i saw the horror movie theme and didnt look at a single other card until after the set released ^^" Maybe an overreaction but at the time i was so disappointed about having my expectations subverted

Why not keep the smaug token instead of the cursed mirror? jimmy had tons of mana and even another land in hand. The token would’ve been a flyer to take the monarch too.

Wasn't a fan of the furry, fuzzy theme Bloomburrow had but the cards were fun, gift is great in commander and the theme made sense and was more magic like despite me not personally being a fan. The top down design is so bad and I'm happy more people agree, next year is going to be rough with more universes beyond than normal sets - really feels like theyre losing inspiration because of how much they need to pump out. No S's for me this year and I would just put foundations and bloomburrow at B or B+, MH3 at an A I agree with. Really hope WOTC steps it up in 2026 because I have a feeling 2025 is going to be terrible.

I was very wrong about the surveil land craze. I really thought it'd be only slightly better than like the tapped duals we got in DMU or Kaldheim. I don't mind being wrong, but what an explosion those had.

Fallout was my favorite set of the year. I thought it had the best designed commanders by a wide margin. Mr. House, The Master Transcendent, Dogmeat, The Wise Mothman... there are some real bangers there. I also liked the radiation mechanic and would like to see it return in future sets.

I honestly thought the Junk tokens introduced in Fallout were going into Bello being a Raccoon lol

Extra turns is 100% better than game knights these days. Has been for the past year or so. The money they spend on gk they could split that and allocate it into more magic production. We do not care about special effects. They do. We care about fun magic and only that. Guess what we have. Extra turns.

33:20 I started plating Magic because of the Fallout precons! I started with the Caesar deck and ended up watching a Prof. video on how to upgrade backup commander Mr. House into its own deck. That got me into deck building and now I'm fully invested in the Magic world.

I think aside from Game knights I really like these discussions between you guys. I feel like you guys are letting in a lot more personality in these videos. The silly kind of vibe is cool too. But I really like how serious you guys are here in ranking the different sets.

There’s several modifications you can make to tricky terrain that make it INSANE. It’s not some turn 3 combo off and kill all the players at the table kind of crazy. But like octopus cats riding horseback unblockable banner of kinship cryptic gateway descendants path copy terrastadon or apex predator 15 times insanity. Then you only slightly tweak the landbase throw it a few other decent gates like sea gate and Baldurs gate and mazes end and by the time someone can even start to deal with your insane board if that doesn’t kill them you just win with mazes end. And the insane stuff you do with mana generation is just WILD. Drown in dreams become a win condition you can generate so much mana. Just drown in dreams a player for 33 have them mill 66 and draw 33. I did some copy terrastadon shenanigans and nuked every land on the board that wasn’t mine and took out some artifacts and enchantments with it then had 16 terrastadons fight the creatures. Copied apex predator enough times in one turn that I played every non land permanent in the deck through cascade all on like turn 6-8

Duskmourn has wayyyyyyy better theming than MKM and saying they are similar seems a bit strange to me. I get the 80's movie vibes can be strange but even with a bit of a hamstring setting the actual theming and vibes of the card types and characters fit way better then "oops all detectives". Probably my favorite set just because I don't really love kindred typals and horror is a personal favorite.

I love prof so much.. he makes commander play even cooler and funnier and add in josh and Jimmy it’s super super fun to watch 😊😊😊

I'll admit I didn't mind the "Movie Sets" but i do think it could have gone a long way if it was a "What if.." twist or the characters knew it wasn't normal (as mentioned). Great episode!

Just a little clarification: the Goryo's Vengeance was not on a bonus sheet ... it was one of 6 bonus cards that were ONLY available in the TV bundle.

Duskmourn is not only my favorite set of the year, but one of my top sets of all time, maybe actually number one. I love almost every card in the set, I love enchantment themes, I love rooms as enchantment split cards, manifest dread is the first time in Magic history that I thought morph felt like it was supposed to and didn't just suck. The overlord cycle is great, the glimmer cycle is great, the dual lands were great, the TV card frame I thought was pretty great at least. Just a 100% s-tier set, it got me back into not just playing but physically collecting the set and going to FNM every week, which I've literally not done since Amonkhet.

God this was a bad year for sets. I usually dont think of premium sets when I think of the years sets. I think its really hard to call MH3 or MB2 set of the year when they arent designed to be accessible to everyone. I personally loved MH3 but its price point is a huge knock against it much like MB2 being hard to get. Of Standard sets I think Bloomburrow did just about everything right. Great signpost cards and archetypes, but still had fun build arounds. Its hard for me to not think of it as the best set of the year. Foundations could end up being one of the most important sets for the future of magic though. Worst set is hard because oh man there were some bad sets. I REALLY hate Duskmorn, but its probably the best set of the other 3 standard sets. I think its gotta be MKM. Limited sucked. Set was really forgettable. It doesnt even feel like Ravnica outside of the awesome lands thing ravnica does. In general just bad. (I refuse to acknowledge precons or aftermath as a "set".)

Here's why outlaw junction should get an F and please remember I'm Cree. Wizards made a cowboys and indains set without any indains... and as woke as Wizards is it's really bothersome that they had the perfect opportunity to give us some really positive representation by just not depicting us as savages but instead just removed us completely and made a cowboys and cowboys set.
