What a difference a year makes!! Last year you were baling swamps, woods, roadsides, government property, just kidding, but you WERE looking for anything to bale last year because of the drought. Blessing to you from Florida during this haying season!!

And now there might be Crocodiles 🐊 in those sloughs and swamps😱🤣🤣. It's an absolute different beast this year 4 sure. LOL Cheers 🍻 Andy

Thanks Ted! Keeping it real as possible. Haying going fairly good given the weather, a couple lil break downs but that's usually expected in the first couple weeks. 👍🏻 Cheers 🍻☕️ Ted

I cut down on the twine too. I have a jd with dual arms running across the whole bale together. I’m just running twine through one right now. Probably the same setup as yours. It’s a 559, the monitor is the same. Good luck and keep on rolling!!
@PrairieSunsetRanch2 жыл бұрын
The hay is so long I figure running double the twine is unnecessary. But I am a cheap bugger! How's you Haying season moving along Chad? Cheers 🍻 buddy
@chadtosh68312 жыл бұрын
@@PrairieSunsetRanch not too bad. 1200 bales in, probably a 1000 to go. Only 200 acres left to cut, probably make 400 bales this weekend then I’m caught up to the cutter. Mostly done hay by next weekend, then start picking at greenfeed. Lol
@chadtosh68312 жыл бұрын
@@PrairieSunsetRanch I generally never put much twine on unless it’s straw or really short hay. We set out a lot for bale grazing right off the truck and I hate cutting all of that crap off. So less is more. Lol.

I always put max twine on the bales...it seems to help them shed water especially if you have carry over to the next year
@PrairieSunsetRanch2 жыл бұрын
For sure if the bales are going to be carry over it doesn't hurt to toss a few more rolls on em.👍🏻 Cheers 🍻 DREAMBOAT 🎂🎂

Nice having a good yield of hay this year. I was on my last 30 acres of first cut on my lowest field and we got alot of rain. Waiting for it to dry up now.

Good day! Sure some nice hay out there. I'm cheap but never cheap out on twine lol. Each to there own. I've tried to cut back in the past but usually resulted in bales falling apart especially keeping them around for 2 or 3 years.
@PrairieSunsetRanch2 жыл бұрын
LMAO 🤣. I still have both tie arms spooled just spaced them out a .5 inch further and cutback on the end wraps a little. Bales are still sitting nice n tight. Once I get to the Alfalfa fields I will bump 🆙 twine. Cheers 🍻 Bro

What a difference from last year!! Fields look super healthy. Did you end up replanting, or is this natural?
@PrairieSunsetRanch2 жыл бұрын
This field is just natural. This field healed up amazingly, goodness is it resilient. It's truly amazing coming out of so many consecutive years of drought.

its a nice crop out there I knocked down 50 acres it was just getting ready to rake and I got 1.5 mm on it but I don't think it did it a bit of harm will rake and roll tomorrow I think the bale count should be very interesting.

Oh of course. Rain just had to 💩 on your party. It's almost comical thinking back to the last couple years where we would cut and the next morning be raking and baling. Hope you get the hay off dry👍🏻. I'm heading out shortly. to take a kick at the can. Cheers 🍻

@@PrairieSunsetRanch if the rain can stay away as long as it’s supposed to it should be fine I will say these little showers don’t seem to cause any considerable damage to uncrimped hay
