I like the shingled side better because it has more definition and volume. I feel shingling works better on looser textures than coily, because you need that extra help to make the hair curl. At least that's the case for me, when I shingle my hair shrinks soooo much on my 3c/4a hair, so raking works best for me.

I love the shingled side. I had been raking my hair for a couple of years and didn’t know there was a term for it. I’m shingling now, thanks to you, and I’m more confident about how my hair looks (and feels). I also have a better understanding of what’s going on with it. Your “Nightly Routine” video and your “Refresh My Wash and Go” have made all the difference in how long my style last. I’m really glad I happened upon your channel because I love my loose curly hair and now it looks loved.

I like them both. Both sides look good. The true test would be which side last longer. lol

Thank you for doing this! I never tried any of the methods, so that was really good information. I think both sides look beautiful. But I would differently pick the shingling method. Also, I wanna say your hair is beautiful and you are beautiful.

@@CandiceCeleste no problem. I actually never done wash and go ever before cuz I didn't know I could do that with my hair. I just started learning about it now. But I love it ad I am excited to do it.

Your curl pattern is so beautiful & your hair is extremely healthy! You were one of the inspirations during my transitioning hair journey. I am 24 month’s post relaxer and included my journey & wash day routine on my youtube channel. Sending love from NOLA💕💕💕

Same gurl. I have been relaxing my hair since I was 7 years old. When i was 12 I watched the movie Nappily ever after and I was inspired. My parents and I agreed to start over. So i shaved my head. It took some getting used to but I was okay. My friends supported me and now I am 14 years old with a full head of healthy long hair.

Thank you for making this video!!! it helped me soooo much. I noticed how when my hair was shorter and I had time to shingle the curls would pop but when decide to rake now with longer hair they don't. I believe my hair has a more s pattern then a o pattern curl and that raking enhances the waves while shingling and scrunching encourages a little more o defined curl pattern. greenbeauty has a video how curl type is not enough and there are so many factors including curl pattern. Someone with a "O" curl pattern tends to always have spirals no matter how they put the product in their hair. Your hair is always gorgeous btw!!

Yeah I like both!! But the shingled side maybe just a little bit more.

Shingling, if you have the time. Raking, for a quick fix (gives a good alternative result). I haven’t done either method for awhile. I think I’ll do both on my next ‘hair day’ and see how they compare.

When I shingle my hair I end up with pieces of hair curled around my finger😳 so I don’t shingle. I rake it through or only shingle certain areas where I need mor definition. Any suggestions?

I know which side is the winner before I even watch. But the longer my hair gets the lazier I get so I know which one I’m rooting for 😅 lol Edit: I prefer the shingling side for my head, but it really boils down to what you like more: definition or saving time doing your hair 🤷🏾♀️ this was very useful and I need to stop being lazy in order to get the results I want lol 😊
@CandiceCeleste4 жыл бұрын
Girl I'm the same way! the longer my hair gets, the less I want to do it lol. But the results from shingling is so worth it!

BIG BERTHA question: a lot of the amazon reviews on it warn that it “will suck your hair into the fan” 😐😰 but your hair is healthy so I wanted to ask you about it. Have you experienced this and if so how do you prevent that?
@CandiceCeleste4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I saw that too. I’ve had big Bertha for a year now & it hasn’t happened to me BUT it does whip around like 2 or 3 curls in the back of my head sometimes so I just use a clip or Bobby pin to hold it down.
