Something I must say, as someone who has grown acquainted with Mandela Catalogue memes. That was very well done. It didn't rely on a jumpscare, but a slow pan up to the face. We don't know what's going to be on his face, but we know it's gonna be bad, and here comes the creeping dread and horror as the camera goes irreversibly upwards. Only to reveal that his typical distorted smile is gone. Then we see the eyes. That right there, is a good way to do horror. Very nice.

I really like this. The music choice is brilliant: it's powerfully ominous and to some degree tragic in an oddly calming way. It combines well with the slow pan upwards from Gabriel's hands to their face, which is surprisingly unsettling. Even if you expect its appearance, this particularly realistic portrayal of it is uniquely horrifying. It almost looks avian, and the chin is difficult to distinguish from the neck during the pan upwards. The ending almost seems to indicate that this video was being viewed by someone via VHS or some other analog medium, and that they stopped it before it could reach its ending. This could be interpreted as a response to the terrific combined effect of all of the things previously mentioned. If that is so then this video seems to imply something with its final shot. That merely stopping the video is by no means an end to the terror. That the unwavering stare of the final still image is very intentional. That if the video were to be resumed, something would happen, and even though the video won't be resumed, something _must_ happen.

I like to think that the "ads" are from the TV, which also has something to do with The Intruder.
