@@adriankasprzyk5364 Loeb killed rallying. There wasn't really anything anyone could have really done I think. Citroen and him were just too good. Then the financial crash and Ogier were the nail in the coffin, but it is having a resurgence now thanks to Tanak, Neuville and Rovanpera's fights.

Yes! He could push that Evo like noone else, and has the flamboyance and classy style like McRae and Sainz. We wont see such a strong lineup soon. The closest we got is the current one, but the cars aren't as beautiful :\ missing the 2000cc I think its because back in 1997-2001 drivers overall are older, and today they are starting a lot younger and need to relax a bit more in interviews. For example, Petter Solberg in these videos remind me a lot of the current drivers. When Loeb came back for a few 2018 and 2019 runs, we could spot this difference. It's an older, more experienced driver on all aspects, regardless of his won titles.

Then Mitsu ruined it with the really rushed Evo 7 and then let him go to Subaru. They literally have 0 ambition after 99.

@@radityaindera3442 I really don't know why Mitsubishi decided to do what they did. They could have become the Ferrari of rallying. They had the Marlboro red, the talisman in Makkinen and created some very interesting sports cars like the 3000GT, Eclipse and the FTO. I think it didn't really help that the FIA were going away from production based models into the rally prototypes we see today. Perhaps they really were a one trick pony with the Lancer and Makkinen. Or maybe if they carried on, we would have seen a legendary rivalry between a Mirage Ralliart that would take on the GR Yaris in the WRC. Crazy to think that they don't even make the Lancer anymore...

@@potatogirlcultist19 They really failed as a manufacturer generally. Bad management I would say. They make Colt in Europe as redesigned Clio, same with ASX as Captur

10 year old me just assumed Tommi phoned it in post ‘99, I couldn’t be more wrong in retrospect! Bar an errant slide in Sweden he’d have won the 2001 title too 😮
