@@JanGaarnitry playing it like real life and its genuinely immersive, with the helmet & headphones/earpieces on the car is minimal background noise at most. 95% of the sound is your codriver so you've no choice in listening. best way to describe it having experience is you go into a trance, you dont have to think it all just flows together naturally and the codriver becomes your brain telling you what's up ahead like your in a dream, the adrenaline rush imo is unrivalled even in low horsepower cars.

Wowzers! Your cornering inputs are SO INCREDIBLY PRECISE!!! Every corner you very clearly over-input to set the car angle then snap back to a precise steering angle and hold it there through the turn. I know in my head this is how it's done (just from winter driving on normal Canadian roads a little too fast, haha) but it was super cool to see it this clearly, and at this speed. Truly breathtaking! Well done ma'am!
@86themadhatter277 ай бұрын
I don't know if it's the triple screen or the POV but it gives such a great sense of speed. Pacenotes seemed pretty good. 2's and 1's seemed a little faster than i'd have expected
@hankbizzle52827 ай бұрын
Remember pace notes are relative to the current situation. So a 2 left at Finland will be a lot more open than a 2 left at Monte Carlo for example.
@Law0fRevenge7 ай бұрын
It's the triples. If you cover the left and right screen with your hands while watching this, you'll notice quite a difference in sense of speed.
@shredd57057 ай бұрын
It's the triples. I remember when I started using triples for racing sims, it was what I instantly noticed, the difference is massive. Sense of speed comes mostly from peripheral vision, because there things pass you quick (trees, rocks, houses etc. close to you). In front things don't look as intense, because stuff is mostly far away. Gamers who use single screen complain often about sense of speed, but there isn't much devs can do if the car moves at realistic speed and the POV is realistic (other than speed up the game artificially, so that when your speedometer says 100mph the game is actually moving faster than that, covering greater distance of game map than a real car would... some arcade games like Forza Horizon probably do this, because players are never happy with the "sense of speed" otherwise.. so if Lamborghini goes 300, they secretly make it go 370 but don't tell the player, who then praises the "sense of speed" the game has over other arcade games... sims however can't afford to do this)
@alwu50717 ай бұрын
Nope if you play it…it is actually very fast with the trees zooming pass
@TunaIRL7 ай бұрын
@@shredd5705 Peripheral vision doesn't explain the whole story. There's added confusion because you're actually dealing with 2 different FOV's. Firstly there is your real life eye's FOV and there's the game cameras FOV. We actually only need to increase the game's FOV to increase the sense of speed. The video "Perception of speed changes with field of view" on KZbin shows this well. You can do this with any game on any monitor set-up. Even in Minecraft if you set the FOV to the maximum, it'll suddenly seem like you're going fast. The issue is obviously that when you start increasing FOV the image starts warping when it has to fit on a single monitor. Triple screens solve this issue. Now more of the monitor is covering your eye's FOV and in turn your in-game FOV is also higher without the warping. The point is that FOV dictates the sense of speed, not peripheral vision per-se. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to notice the change from this video since you look at the video with your central vision.

I like how a lot of real rally drivers have the dampening and self align torque turned down so their steering is always super active, it's common to see people running through stages you YT and they're barely turning the wheel, it's like they're driving on a circuit. It's more fun being on the edge of grip!
@thecastledude76347 ай бұрын
Yeah, i noticed this a while ago. When i see this in the first few secounds of a vid, i just stop watching, because i know, it is gonna be boring.
@niko16227 ай бұрын
could you elaborate? dont you mean the wheel rotation? what has the dampening to do with how much you turn the wheel?
@lukasgustin46317 ай бұрын
I drive like this and i have a different theory of why it seems this way. many people drive rally games like they where circuit racing since they don’t know how rally works. they drive the stage slowly and multiple times to get the best run when doing this they try to find the fastest line. When you do this you know longer get that feeling of not knowing exactly what’s to come. It’s that feeling that causes this type of driving when you are constantly doing small corrections to get the best entry or exit like real rally drivers do

Secondly, I would really like to know your oppinion about this game! The KZbinr Jimmy Broadbent had a couple of streams and videos about this game and he totally loved it, although acknowledging that it's not a simulation. How much time did you spend with it already, did you check out all these new tracks? The long ones, too? How do you like the tarmac, as it was quite bad in Dirt 2.0? I guess I would just love to see a review video by you ^^
@smallbutdeadly9317 ай бұрын
There was a video someone else made showing how the physics really seem to depend on a pivoting point in the middle of the car, and that it could be slightly more realistic if there was some work done to move it to the rear axle while making other adjustments as well. That pivoting point is what is making the cars feel like they slide so much. But because of this, this game is more of a simcade rally game at best. Dirt Rally 2.0 also contains this same issue, and it looks like all that WRC did was turn up the grip. If you wanna watch it, its called "EA Sports WRC 23 (physics) analysis"
@mindofmyown3337 ай бұрын

@@ConjureIsMe Who debunked it? I'm interested because in my eyes this game drives more realistically than any other rally game I've ever played INCLUDING RBR... the cars are very controlled, they don't slide all over the place and the sliding is exactly as much as I would expect based on the speed I'm at... This game's driving flows exactly as you would expect a real rally car to flow through the corners . So if there's a vid debunking that bullshit, please let me know, I wanna see it 😁
