Rally Finland is the greatest rally in my opinion, it has every thing one would hate as a driver trying to escape in one piece. Fast, flowing corners then pair that with an immediate jumps. Dips and humps everywhere, most blind at over 100 km/h. Never retiring once at Rally Finland means you just weren’t fast enough. It was 120 km/h or bust.

I always liked Ari's courage and bravery, his aggressiveness and spectacular pilotage on his best days. I have special memories of that Monte Carlo (1985) that he won with a comeback worth telling your grandchildren. Even after a few years the 1000 Lakes '93, premiering the Subaru Impreza, being he already a veteran, with 41 years, as he continued to run on the attack, leading the rally. Together with Markku and Toivonen (late Henri), they were the drivers who were going to win in all kinds of rallies (Corsica, Acropolis, Sweden, Safari, ...), no saying "this is not for me". Mikkola is missing. The benchmark for Finnish rally drivers. Charismatic and great person. RIP Hannu.

If I was a betting man I'd wager him to win this time. His pace is so good right now, he knows this one well, does well on fast and tricky tracks. It's his home rally. I'm thinking that if his car just makes it, he will be fighting for the win. Hopefully it's gonna be a small margin competition, with Kalle edging out the win. Then again, his pace in agropolis was frightening...

This document is a real masterpiece. One of a kind. It has 1000 readings and the more you know about the history of the sport, the deeper you get to the essence of the work. The human factor? Bespoke, precious, at the same time, uncompromising, competitive, stubborn. Have a closer look at the hardware. To my opinion, it is a testament to those who were not - could not be present. The Mini reference to another great driver, the GT4 with Latvala behind the wheel, the Lancer. So many details, so many untold stories. It is hardly unlikely to summon my achievements of a professional life to the 11:35 of Mikola in 1985. Thank you for giving us a purpose gentlemen.
