In this episode, I work with my mate Neil Burgess upgrading the suspension on his 2007 BMW Mini Cooper S rally car. As a former class champion of the British Rally Championship Neil is no stranger to rallying

Whether working on a Nissan Leaf, Toyota Prius or a Tesla, the HV Battery or High Voltage battery is designed to be safe but it can affect how other systems work in the vehicle and it is always better to be safe than sorry. Doing an eMobility course at Bosch Automotive Aftermarket which results in an IMI training qualification could help keep you safe and help your (insulated) spannering career too.
China relishes the upcoming project, which invites viewers into his personal workshop facility in Buckinghamshire.
“I’m really excited to finally be able to bring this project to our fans as it is something they repeatedly have been asking for,” said China. “Workshop Diaries will let viewers really get stuck into the project and the detail of the fixes, and also provide a platform for instant feedback and interaction. It’s an exciting prospect and it’s great to finally get going!”

This show is a stark contrast to other car culture channels on KZbin, that seem to be yelling at you to like, share and buy merch. Full of hype, over the top drama and just willing to show you an end product without getting into the nuts and bolts of a rebuild and its challenges. This channel and Bad Obsession Motorsport. The only two places you really cant wait for content. And Edds channel with high production levels, no camera wobble, or any such things with the camera work. It just soothes the soul. Always.

The thing that bugs me is the amount of product placement going on. Edd has even blurred out tools in the past just to keep sponsorship deals in a healthy state. Disgusting, dishonest behaviour in my opinion. Having said that, these videos are very easy to watch, it just really infuriates me when I see it.

The camera work, lighting, and editing are absolutely superb. Incredible definition and focus. You may have hit on something here with the quieter, slower, laid back format. It really feels like the viewer has just stopped by your shop after work to just hang out and see what's going on. Really a unique format. I will admit that at times, if you are not used to it, it seems a bit slow, but once you get the feel for the show and how it moves, you learn to relax and flow with it. And I think "relax" is the key adjective here. You end up being really disappointed when Edd says "in so many words" okay guys it's time to go home, come on back next week. LOL. WHAT? it's over? Is it that late? Hahahhaha I've sat around many garages in my life and felt the same disappointment. Great job guys, well done...👍👍

I've replaced the LCA bushings a number of times on MINIs. As those bushings are quite prone to failure, BMW sold a special tool that allowed for pressing out the old bushing from the carrier and pressing in the new one without removing the carrier or subframe from the car. It wasn't a cheap tool when I bought it from a MINI dealer back in 2006, but Baum Tools sells an equivalent tool for less. Edd also skipped over detaching the front bumper part from the bumper, in case anyone is watching this and planning to do this job themselves.

It's good to know your car's limits. Doesn't matter if you're a race driver or just driving to work. If you know your car's limits it can save you from a crash. The first thing I do when I get a different vehicle is take it out and see where it's limits are. Then I know how fast I can take a corner, how hard I can hit the brakes and how fast I can take off from a standstill without losing traction. It's also good to do it in every type of weather in your area. If it rains or snows a lot, you should know how to drive your vehicle safely
