At #RalphLauren, we’re on a journey to evolve our design approach from inspiration to collaboration with communities that inspire us.
We are honored to introduce the inaugural collaboration of the Ralph Lauren Artist in Residence program, #PoloRalphLauren x #NaiomiGlasses: A collection that pays tribute to Navajo heritage and centuries-old weaving traditions.
Naiomi, our first artist in residence, is a seventh-generation Diné (Navajo) textile artist and designer whose work reflects her deep connection to her craft, community and its importance, and the beauty of her Indigenous culture.

Respect to Ralph Lauren, for not just taking from the indigenous cultures , given them respect and recognition for their art and culture, In this continent so much wealth has being taking by force from them, entire empires where build from the wealth from this lands, In all of the other continents even after colonization have aloud their indigenous populations to keep their cultures, languages, religions, etc. Just here in the American continent, many of the indigenous cultures and their religions are extinct and no one remember them, not even their own descendants!!! very nice to see some one, even if is only a few , showing respect and giving them their place in this beautiful continent that all of us borne here love so much!!! I have always been an RL fan because of his classic SW influence but this has to be my absolute favorite collaboration. We lived & taught on the Navajo reservation years ago and it was such a wonderful, interesting experience. The Navajo people left an indelible mark on our hearts. Such beautiful caring people.🧡🤎🧡🤎

We can keep moving forward and we can keep finding our empowerment, but what we can't do is rewrite history. We are AMERICAN INDIANS!! The British new arrival Indians from India can get over it. This is our country and we are American Indians. They can use what they have prescribed for themselves as Indian Americans. This generation has not business questioning what generations many years before ours did. We just have to travel down our prescribed paths and add beauty by building on the foundations we have been handed.
