I had stopped wearing any Cologne in the past 20 years. As I am almost 50. And I guess it is a mid life crisis. But I thought about wearing again and couldn't find this at the corner store. They had red and black but no green. I found it online of course. But this was the only one I wore back in 80's & 90's . One good thing about it. Everyone and their brother isn't wearing it now. So I will be unique .unlike back in the old days.

I'm a few years younger than yourself but boy, it's a definitive fragrance for me from ages 18-25 so (90-97) and I've revisited it once in a while since. Bit of a time machine. Heads up!!!! John Lewis are selling the 237ml bottles online for £65 free postage. Which is bonkers! I'm back in the game.

This smells like every man I have ever loved. All the men I respected wore this, the clubbing guys wore Drakkar. I am going to buy a small bottle to smell when I want to go back in time. I have an old bottle of skin bracer because my dad wore it. Aqua Velva as well. Thanks!

One of my all-time favorites. I always get nervous when the bottle runs low. An interesting aquatic cousin of this is Aramis New West, which also has piney and woodsy notes (and was my signature scent for years.)

the dry-down reminds me of woodruff, which is such a pleasant and clean note in my nose. The vintage wasn't a green juice, I wouldn't bet my life on it but I would remember that. Recently I smelled it on another guy, as you said, a well-dressed man in a suit in the morning. it was the first time in years, and that guy smelled so clean and fresh without annoying or intrusive notes. there is neither lemon nor any other sour dry notes. to be honest, I don't even know the reformulations.

i just found out about this fragrance from max forti's tobacco themed fragrances. the way he described it made me think it's heavy on the tobacco, but watching this video makes me think it's more green than tobacco

This smell reminds me of my dad bc he wore this for most of my childhood from 80s to the early 2000s. My mom has allergic reactions to perfumes now so my dad hasn’t worn perfume for the past couple years.

Much Appreciated. 🙏 I'm really glad that you find my content useful in your buying decisions, but regards to the polo green question, The polo green intense smells more contemporary but lacks the character and uniqueness of the original in my opinion. They smell very different to one another so it depends on what you want from the scent?? The original is big and bold with a statement making sillage but it has a definite retro 80s-90s vibe, whareas the intense is modern and easier to wear but like I say, doesnt have anywhere near the same amount of wowfactor.

I have used Polo for at least 20 years and i always get compliments from all age groups. I call it my secret weapon. It used to come with a dropper type top, not the atomizer which is too much often. Just a few drops are all that are needed. I just try to let a little dribble out and put on neck, maybe the chest. Careful, as it is very easy to overdo. One spray max. What's old is new again!

I have a bottle from the late 80s, and a bottle I got in 2017. Both bottles smell like polo to me, they have slight differences but none that you would notice if you weren’t going out of your way to look for them. I wore the newer bottle to work the other day, and my boss who grew up wearing the original, drakkar, and ADG took one whiff and said “polo?”. Overall the same scent as before

My Polo is 2018 batch. It has that " green incense ". I can't explain it. Some green smoky dirtiness in the scent. And it's earthy enough. My critical question is which one from vintage formulations is closer to my Polo. Cosmair or Warner?

The vintage polo to me always smelled like a fancy fragrance that had gone bad on the wearer's skin. Back in college, the guys who wore it were either frat rats or douchebags.
