If you have different tires on your truck, you probably get a VERY annoying TPMS light warning and a flashing "tire pressure low" every time you start the truck. Annoying, right? Well change it yourself!
The most difficult thing you'll need is from the dealer, a 4 digit pin. Once you get it however, you'll never need to see them again!
Change the RAM TPMS settings yourself!

Just a heads up to help out anyone who runs into the same issue I did. If you change your tire size with the alfaobd on a 2016 Ram 2500, you will get a bunch of warnings and your speedometer won’t work when you start your truck. To correct this, you must reboot and calibrate the ABS module with your alfaobd. It took about 3hrs for me to figure it out…. So you’re welcome lol

13 Ram 1500 Tradesman Charles great video very informational!!. Just wanted to share my experience. My truck always had yellow warning light on. I recently had all tpms sensors replaced and got read outs from all 4 tires. Was told light would go out on its own after driving for a while. It did not. So I purchased OBDLink MX+ and alpha obd. Followed video steps. Nothing light still on . FYI new inputs did take. Message I always had was : service tire pressure system. I was at point of giving up. Figured let me download and try the the official OBDLink app. I was able to reset/clear every code in every module in the truck . Long and behold light was gone. Still happy I purchased alpha since I used it to program new keys.

The factory remote start stopped working all of a sudden on my 2013 RAM 1500, I found out it wasn't working the day I picked up the truck from the dealer I bought it from, they had taken the truck to a repair shop to fix a turning signal issue that it had, my guess is that they did something that screwed up the remote start. Hi Charles, I did everything you said in the video and it worked like a charm. However, I was trying to find out how to change my LED lights and a new set of error codes appeared: 1) engine light, 2) ABS and 3) Park Sense. I back-tracked through what I did and didn't see where I could have made a mistake, but the lights are still shining bright. This is new to me and frankly I was reluctant, but after watching your video, I thought this would be easy enough, but maybe I shoulda left well alone after I cleared my TPMS errors. so any help would be greatly appreciated. Threshold is when the alarm will start to go off/bug you. So if you want to normally be 40psi, set the tpms at 38-40. Anytime the tires are below what you set, it will flash at startup.

Will you get a light if the pressure is too high? I run 40 psi around town, 65 psi while towing and sometimes down to 10 psi while playing in the sand. If I set it to 40, what happens when I air up to tow? 10 psi in the sand is fine for a light. It is temporary play time.

You can use the MX+ with IOS, but you can't use Alphaobd. You'll need to borrow a tablet/phone from someone who uses android. The cable thing is only for 18+ because of a bypass needed.

Have a question; 2014 Ram 2500, different tires, 35’s, did as you showed in video. All went well and showed programming was complete. Turned truck off for 5 mins, started truck. Light still on.... What does the screen show the truck is wanting to see? Does it show that it wants to have at least (just an example) 35psi, but even with 37psi it still complains? Sometimes it takes a minute for everything to sync up. Try again, but slower perhaps.

Will the Alfa OBD help with a bad vehicle module? I installed new wheels and TPMS sensors, the R/R accepted the tpms twice but then failed to read after 20 miles or so, the tpms is readable by a scanner, and I even rotated my tires to see if it moved with tire, it stayed on the right rear. thanks for any help you can give.

Hmm, you get this figured out? I don't think it would help with a bad module, but it is odd that it isn't being picked up. And swapping the tires for sure didn't do anything? When I rotate mine, it sometimes takes a while for the truck to actually update and tell me what tires are where (a few days I feel like sometimes...)

Tried and didn't work. Couldn't reset/replace RF-HUB. Said my fob wasn't in the vehicle or FOBHUB not linked with vehicle then triggered a check engine light. Did a get the wrong code from the dealer?

No, the pin is only required for certain things. Lighting does NOT require a pin. As far as I know, a pin is required for tpms, key related things, stuff to do with security. DRL is a big one-trying to figure out how to explain things/show it properly.

There are 2 different pin codes. A 5 digit and a 4 digit. The 5digit is the code for getting new keys cut the 4 digit is for programming purposes. Go to the parts counter and they will give you both. If you go to the service center guys they may try to charge you. Also you do not need the pin for the global windows feature. But I could not get it to work on my 2014.

I found the longer video first, and it didn't work. After watching THIS video and seeing the rf-hub part, it still didnt shut the damn light off.....until the truck was driven for about 20 minutes and on the hiway. I have the AlphaOBD app on a new android phone, and linked with a $12 Amazon bluetooth OBD2. The PIN you need from the Dodge dealership is the key fob pin. They'll give you lip and ask why you need it. Your new obd scanner wants it and you dont know why. The local dealership parts guy told me "corporate has limited pin inqueries to 5 per day because people keep giving out info they're not supposed to". I don't understand it, but that's what he said. Make sure you take the registration receipt and actually drive THAT truck to get the pin code.

Its probably your $12 obd port adpater. You need the obd link mx+ to have the high speed connection to change the body control module.

Hope you are still monitoring this Video, great Video BTW. Curious about the RF Hub menu, there is an option to read the PIN near the bottom of the options. I selected that and it returned a 4 digit pin. Isn't this the same PIN that the dealer would provide ? I haven't tried using it yet however will try it and see if it accepts it. Hey I'm having a problem I ordered the alpha OBD and I changed my tire size because my mile per hour was about 5 miles an hour off after doing that I have a service ABS light can't use four-wheel drive and my speedometer don't work anything that I can do to get that reset?

First make sure you entered the tire circumference. Then you need to reset the abs module. Go to abs and read what it says to do and do both procedures and it should restart fine. Also make sure to clear any codes within the bcm and the engine.

@@WildTouring naw, from what I’ve learned ,most of the the things the alphaobd dose don’t apply to my year , I can change some things but none of the good stuff ,I should’ve read up more on it before spending 100 on the alphaobd then anther 49.99 on the app.

I performed all the steps you indicated on my 2017 Ram 2500 for the TPMS threshold change but when I input the values to make the adjustments it comes back showing higher numbers front and rear, I input 45 psi front and 40 psi rear and after the procedure it shows 63 psi front and 58 psi rear. On yours it shows what you input as the result. Also the flashing light pops on indicating low pressure but no warning on the EVIC. Any opinion on this issue?

Did you clear out any codes you might have had? Or changed a bunch of stuff all at once?

Just changed the TPMS threshold and at the end hit clear all faults. Drove abunch yesterday and tire light still on. Can it read the tire pressures are now to high? Tonight I am going to lower the pressures down to the new "Max" and see what that does.

@@rossschliephake3096 I put my values in for the TPMS at 55 front and rear and they didn't change. it now says "inflate rear to 71" . i will keep researching until I find out how to change them. Thanks for the video Charles...nice job.

@@zacarvold9825 reset front and rear to same pressure and tried again to reset RF Hub and still dash light still on. I might reset tpms threshold back to stock and see if that clears light

Can this be done with an Ipad also ?

No-although the ipad will connect to the MX+, the Alpha software is not available to IOS. SO the only thing you can do with your ipad is see gauges and stuff, but that would be through the included MX/MX+ app or other various obd apps-but none of those change parameters like the Alpha app does.

So... i have all done this to my 2016 Rebel.. My Vehicle Pin is 4 Digits but my AlfaOBD tells me that i habe to enter 5 Digits.... What's wrong with this piece of magic? XD

You get this figure out yet? I know once it’s entered it should be saved, at least for me. And you’re entering the pin in the proper place? I know there is a temp/rolling code spot and another which you’re supposed to use (the 4 PIN number)
